The Best Korean Sheet Masks Ever

You wanna know who’s annoying?

Well, my sister who lives in Hong Kong came to visit me this past December but prior to her visit, she went to Seoul for a weekend trip and she asked me if I wanted anything from there – makeup? skincare? food?

I said – NO!

WTF is wrong with me??!!

Yes, I am annoying!  I am annoyed with annoying old ME!!!

You see, my sister had actually bought me a few Korean beauty products – sheet masks, lipsticks, skincare, food – from a previous trip to Korea. My IG pic is dated April 2015 but she actually gave them to me when she visited in December 2014!!!  I had stashed this haul away in a ‘safe place’ and promptly, forgotten about it.  So I felt too guilty to ask for more stuff when I hadn’t found used any of the products she had bought me previously.

Anyway, so get this…

We spent our New Year’s Eve being party animals.  By party animals, I mean, we spent the last few hours of 2017 clearing out our “Study”.

I’m using the term “Study” lightly because it was basically our junk room.

Friends are popping over in an hour.  No problem.  Chuck every fugly thing in the “Study”.

Overseas visitors will be staying with us for a couple of weeks.  No problemo.  Just hide all the crap in the “Study”.

No studying was ever done in the “Study”.

So, anyway, back to NYE, the kids are in bed and my husband and I are sweating like big baby beasts because we are busy chucking out all the crap that is in that “Study”.

And guess what I find?

Yes, a box full of goodies including all the lovely Korean makeup and skincare products my sister had got me.

“Let’s get it on!”
“Uh…what?  Right now?”
“Huh?  No, you wish mate!  I’m not talking to you!  I’m talking about this sheet mask!”

And that, my friends, is how I first tried Etude House sheet masks.

And boy, are they the best or are they the BEST?!!!!

I woke up the next morning, i.e. New Year’s Day, and I had glowy, bouncy and 25-year-old skin!

I have used plenty of sheet masks in my time but I have not had such great results as I have had with these Etude House sheet masks.

So yeah, I am ULTRA annoyed at me for not using these YEARS ago when my sister first got them for me.  And why did I say “No” when my sister offered to buy me amazing Korean beauty products at amazing Korean prices?  SIGHS!!!  Major regrets!!!

You simply must go and buy some Etude House sheet masks today!

That said, I have yet to try the Tony Moly sheet masks she got me because I have been so happy with the results of the Etude House ones….hmmm….I will update you when I decide to use the Tony Moly ones hehe.

Disclaimer :  As mentioned, my sis bought me these sheet masks so hashtag GIFTED and also, I have used affiliate links which means that if you buy anything from my links, I will get a small, like veryyyy small, commission at no extra cost to you and for that, I thank you!

Apply, Dry & Peel

First of all, I want to thank everyone who took their time to leave a comment and send me a message to welcome me back to beauty blogging on this blog { I did write a few beauty posts on my lifestyle blog but nobody reads that except maybe one of my sisters…? }.  It means a lot!!!

Anyway, I was hoping to kick off my beauty blogging comeback with an awesome never-been-blogged-before-brand-spanking-new-product but it’s not going to happen because I have dropped off most of the PR call-out lists now so I don’t have a clue what’s new in the beauty world these days.

Instead, the beauty product I am going to blog about today was purchased after I read two raving reviews of it…and the fact that it was half price helped too!

Without further ado, the product I am going to review today is…

*drum roll*

Maybelline Tattoo Brow 3 Day Gel Tint { well done if you already guessed the product from reading the title }

It’s basically a DIY paint-on gel tint for brows which lasts up to 3 days; perfect for those who would love daily brow definition but don’t have time to draw in brows every morning.  That’s ME to a tee!

It’s really simple to use in 3 easy steps :-

1.  Apply a thick even layer over brows in the shape you like
2.  Wait for at least 20 minutes for it to dry.
3.  Peel it off and brush brows gently with a spoolie

The above photos are from my first time using the tint so as you can see, I got the perfect right brow but effed up my left brow and made it look like a reverse Nike brow LOLZZZZZ!!!

{ FYI, there is a PERMANENT black scar on / under my left brow and also an indented scar above that brow from a car accident I had when I was 18 years old.  I was a passenger in the back seat when my friend lost control of his car and it somersaulted twice and I got thrown out the side window onto oncoming cars of a motorway!!!  Anyway, I wear those scars with pride because it is a daily reminder of the fact that I survived a near death experience and I am grateful to be live and kicking with just a few scars }

So, check this…

My husband laughs EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. he sees me with the gel tint on my brows.  He thinks I look like an Angry Bird!!!  Yes, the red Angry Bird from that annoying game that was popular yonks ago.

And if I do actually get angry at him for saying that, he just laughs even more because not only do I LOOK like an Angry Bird but I am also ACTING like “an angry burd” ( burd = Scots slang for female partner ) *rolls my eyes…till they fall out of my head*

Things I like about Maybelline Tattoo Brow 3 Day Gel Tint are :-

  • Simple and fuss-free application
  • Easy to correct any minor hiccups – brush out with spoolie and/or use makeup remover
  • Time saver
  • Looks better than when I pencil in my brows and also, better than any salon brow tints I have had in the past!!!!
  • The shade Dark Brown is perfect for me
  • Makes my husband laugh at me

Things I do not like about Maybelline Tattoo Brow 3 Day Gel Tint are :-

  • Lasts 2 days max on me { but then again, I haven’t left it on for longer than half an hour so I am not sure if it will last longer if I leave it on for longer…?? }
  • RRP $24.95 for 5ml which is rather pricey for a drugstore brand { BUT there’s always discounts on the Maybelline brand eg Priceline currently has 3 for 2 offer }

I’m not sure how long a tube of Maybelline Tattoo Brow 3 Day Gel Tint will last me but I shall enjoy using this for now as I do like looking like an Angry Bird and also, I do like waking up to defined brows in the morning.

Evidently, I have given birth to another aspiring baby beauty blogger!!!  Thank you little Dainty for kindly modelling my tube of Maybelline Tattoo Brow 3 Day Gel Tint with your cute ickle little hands and flashing us your little piggy toes too!!!

Have you tried this yet?  Do you know of any other brow tints I should try?  And be honest, do I really look like an Angry Bird????

Disclosure : I bought this, so I did.  Affiliate links which means no extra cost to you but I do get a small teeny weeny bit of commission if you buy anything using my links and for that, I thank you for your support in helping me run this blog.

Look What You Made Me Do

Remember my last post where I said I was bidding the beauty blogosphere adieu…?

This blog was going to be wiped from cyberspace tomorrow but at the last minute…like erm, 5 minutes ago, I paid for another 3 years of website hosting to keep this blog up and running.  YEP, I GOT SUCKED IN!!!  AGAIN!!!

I had grand plans to merge this beauty blog and my personal lifestyle blog together but I got confused by all the techie jargon (301 redirect, htcaccess…WTFBBQ?!!) so here I am, almost a year later, and a few hundred dollars poorer….

Rambling aside, I have genuinely missed beauty blogging.  I miss writing my reviews but I also miss reading beauty blogs too.  Nobody beauty blogs anymore!!!  Everyone’s on Insta with their heavily curated grid hustling for likes *rolls my eyes*

Anyway, this is me dropping in to say hello…and sh*t, I’ve done it again after I said I wouldn’t…

But oh well, let’s see how I keep up with beauty blogging here and resurrecting the other blog whilst juggling part-time work and a preschooler and a baby.  YAY!!!

Drop me a comment to reassure me that someone is still reading.  Cheers!!!

3 things…

Firstly, I have totally neglected this blog but if you’re still hanging around, thank you so much!

Secondly, I won’t bore you with my excuses for being MIA in beauty blogging but just in case you’re wondering (yes, Mum, I’m talking about YOU!), no I am not pregnant again.

And thirdly, I received a lovely Antipodes skincare package at the start of LAST year.  Took photos of it.  Tried all the products.  But forgot to blog about it…

Antipodes skincare review

If you haven’t heard of Antipodes before, you clearly don’t browse the skincare aisles like I do in Priceline!  The skincare brand hails from New Zealand and I’m so glad I was introduced to their products.
