Laneige Water Sleeping Pack

Beauty sleep is essential to avoid dark circles under eyes and pale washed-out complexions.  However, I am a bit of an insomniac and I don’t sleep well, so my skin can suffer.  To combat this, I use Laneige Water Sleeping Pack

Red Dress From Rome

I was in Rome for the last leg of my honeymoon.  Instead of going sight-seeing, I was actually more tempted by the shopping.  I have a thing for red dresses and this one caught my eye.

Rome, red dress, summer dress

When I bought it, it was 35 degrees in Rome…but when I returned to Melbourne, it was still winter, so I haven’t had a chance to wear it till now.

I love the vibrant colours.  I love the pockets.  I love that it is not tight against my tummy.  The V-neck is a bit risque for me so I have to wear a white vest underneath the dress…but I think it goes well together.

5 Reasons Why I Think I May Be Pregnant

bulging belly, pregnant

1.  I have a huge belly as can be seen in the photo!

This photo was not Photoshopped – I did not suck in or force out my belly.  It is in its natural state.

However, I took this photo after a BIG dinner followed by chocolate chip cookies.  And it also doesn’t help that I haven’t been doing any exercise whatsoever for 6 months!

Apologies if I have burst the I-thought-Ling-had-a-flat-stomach bubble.

And my pink polka dot panties are from Primark and nail polish on toes from OPI.

2.  Sod’s Law after my recent Rugrant Rant.

The British term Sod’s Law is the American equivalent of Murphy’s Law, which basically means “Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong!”

Hence, because I stated that I don’t want children at the moment, I might just end up with one.

Also commonly used in pregnancy terms as, “it was an accident” or “it was a surprise”.

3.  My period is late

My period is usually regular like regular-sized fries from McDonald’s.

However, it has been up to weird tricks since I had a contraceptive implant inserted – which I shall elaborate more of in the next reason.

4.  The failure rate of Implanon is 0.05%

For those of you are unaware, I had this contraceptive implant inserted in my arm just before getting married in August.  Whenever I tell my girlfriends, they have common misconceptions of Implanon, so let me say this here :-

–  Implanon only needs to be replaced every 3 years, not 3 months.
–  Implanon does not affect fertility after removal (but the pill does!).
–  For further information, please see your doctor or if you’re keen, click on the Wiki link here.

And to my guy friends (who clearly did not have a clue about the Implanon), I’m sorry.  I lied.  I said that the implant was like a sperm collector and every few weeks, I would have to empty out the sperm…ahem…otherwise my arm would get heavy…sorry!!!  LOL anyone??

No contraception is 100% guaranteed except no sex!

0.05% failure rate is small…but what if it happens to me??!!

5.  My Husband has Super-Sperm!

One of my girlfriends told me that her husband has Super-Sperm.  They already have one child which was a “pleasant surprise”, i.e. not planned.  Obviously because of his Super-Sperm, they conceived without trying.

So…it got me thinking.  What if my husband has Super-Sperm too?  I asked him if he did and he just laughed.  Men?!

Me :  I think I’m pregnant!
Him :  Stop being paranoid!
Me :  I’m not…but what if I am!
Him :  The first thing I’m gonna do is sue your doctor!
(and then he laughs)

Anyway, I’m going to swan around thinking that I’m pregnant until proven otherwise!!  Ooh, maybe we’ll buy our first pregnancy test together this weekend – what an adventure!  And obviously, I will update you all.  Eating for two sounds like fun…ooh, chocolate cake!!!

Too Lazy To Moisturise

dry skin, need moisturisation

I have a confession to make.  I am too lazy to moisturise.  Yes, I will buy expensive lotions and potions but sometimes, I don’t use them because I cannot be bothered to physically apply it!!  Yes, I am THAT lazy!  Look how dry and scaly my legs are!!!  They look and feel disgusting!!!

It’s not fair though.  Some people like my Hubby never moisturises and he has soft, supple skin!

Oh well, guess I’m a good guinea pig for body moisturisers to test out which ones are good!  Anyone wanna send me any samples???

Summer Dresses

It has been really hot for the last few days in Melbourne so I have been rocking my summer dress collection.

1. Peacock boho dress with gold spangly belt from Hong Kong

2. Pink patterned H&M dress

These dresses have been good to hide my fat belly! I am extremely bloated recently – think it’s drawing close to my time of the month!!!

The humidity isn’t doing my hair any favours so I’m considering either to go for the chop or get it permanently straightened…

Anyway, what have you been wearing?

Palmer’s No Blade Cocoa Butter Facial Hair Remover

Sometimes I buy beauty products because they have pretty packaging.  I was lured into buying Palmer’s No Blade Cocoa Butter Facial Hair Remover because of the pretty pink box.

Palmers Facial Hair Remover, Palmer's Cocoa Butter Facial Hair Remover

Product Description

Hair remover developed especially for the face. Pure cocoa butter enriched with vitamin E leaves the face soft and smooth.  Contains a built-in brush for easy application.

I have used Palmer’s Cocoa Butter skin moisturisers before and have loved them.  BUT…yes, a big BUT!  This hair removal cream stinks so much that I have not even used it yet!!!!  I cannot stand to apply it on my upper lip as the toxic fumes will just knock me out!!!

Has anyone out there used this product??  Does anyone out there want to use this??

I think I’ll wait till I have a blocked nose before I attempt to use this.

And great…I have to live with a hairy upper lip till I find a suitable product.  Any recommendations are greatly welcomed!

EDIT : I was forced to use it recently and have written a review on Palmer’s No Blade Cocoa Butter Facial Hair Remover here

MUA Make Up Academy Cosmetics Shopping Haul & Review

I want to introduce you all to this amazing make-up range from Superdrug, a UK store.  I am loving MUA Cosmetics!  All the products cost £1.  Yes, £1 GBP!  I stumbled upon this when my sister and I were out shopping for cosmetics and I went crazy and here is my MUA shopping haul.
MUA Cosmetics, MUA Cosmetics UK, MUA eyeshadows, MUA lipsticks, MUA nail polishes
I bought a few items from the MUA range to test it out – 5 x eyeshadows, 4 x nail polishes, 2 x lipsticks and 1 xblusher = £12 in total.

My Opinions

  • MUA packaging is simple but not tacky
  • However, MUA product shades are not named with funky cool names but just with numbers, e.g. shade 1 – which is boring!
  • I love the colours of the MUA Eyeshadows  – very vibrant and fresh.  The colours stayed on well when used with eyeshadow primer.  (Have no idea of staying power without primer because basically, I LOVE primer!)
  • MUA Nail Polishes were a bit of a hit and miss.  One of them was runny, one of them was gloopy but I love the midnight blue shimmer one –  (I am currently wearing this shade on my toes)
  • MUA Lipsticks are surprisingly good.  I say suprisingly because I am not usually a fan of lipsticks but recently, I have been using them a lot.  (Am I ageing??)  Rather moisturising and staying power is good, but the pink one has a sickly vanilla taste.
  • The MUA Blusher is nice and pink for summer.
  • For £1, I was really impressed with the quality and quite frankly, I wish I bought more!!!  If only there was a Superdrug in Australia…

You can now buy MUA products online and they ship internationally too :
