2013 will be my year

I can feel it in my bones – 2013 will be my year…AND YOURS TOO!

Happy 2013 to all of you beautiful peeps out there!  I want to thank all the lovely ladies* who took their time to send me lovely encouraging messages from blog comments to Tweets to Facebook messages to emails to SMS to Whatsapps in regards to my previous post.  They genuinely helped put a big smile on my face.

As for my progress, I am getting there…but it still hurts.  To be honest, I over-estimated my healing abilities because I thought I would be back to my regular beauty blogging self, but I won’t lie.  I am not ready yet.  Tomorrow marks the 3rd week since our loss.  I just feel like I can’t beauty blog and talk passionately about beauty products when my heart is elsewhere at the moment.

And yep, you guessed it, I still have the hairiest upper lip!!!  And I have been wearing the daggiest clothes sans makeup!!!

But I did paint my nails the other day (OPI Passion as seen in photo) so I’ll get there eventually!

I won’t apologise for extending my blog break because I need it to heal emotionally.  It’s amazing how much healing occurs when you spend time with loved ones and doing things you love.  My Mum has been cooking all my favourite foods including sweet and sour pork!!  Woohoo!  I am also going to get her to teach me to carve a carrot into a rose (see photo).

I’m going to Hong Kong next week and yay, I’ll get to see my Dad there.  Retail and food therapy, I’m comin’!!!!

Be back soon *pinky promise*

*Thank you all you lovely ladies who wrote me messages <3 <3 (I promise this list will be updated every time I get a new message, but if I forgot to pop down your name, please forgive me) :

  1. Oh Ling I am so so so so sorry. I admit I have been a terrible blog reader over the last couple of months. I feel terrible I wasn’t up to date with what was happening in your life. I really do hope you are on the me d physically and just take all the time you need to heal emotionally. You can’t rush it and no one is asking you too.

You are a dear person and I love you very much.

  2. Hi Ling, I follow your blog and am a regular reader. I have had my own personal dramas in the last 2 weeks and so missed your previous post. I just want to say I had a miscarriage once too and it was the worst feeling. I hope you know you are very much loved and I am sending BIG HUGS to you and your positivity is definitely inspiring and contagious. It’s alright to not be ready for your usual bblogging still because I am sure all your readers will patiently wait and excitedly anticipate when you will be back! MUCH LOVE xoxo

    • @Mandy, Awww Mandy, makes me so sad when I hear women going through the same pain. Thanks for the BIG HUGS and I feel so much better now and looking forward to 2013!

  3. Hi Ling!

As a regular on your blog and also being one of my favourite bbloggers to follow and read! It really saddens me to hear this 🙁

I hope you’re okay and hope that you are mentally and physically doing well.

I’ve been heaps heaps busy myself going through so much over the past few months and all. But I know it doesn’t compare to what you’ve been through.

I just wanted to say that I hope you are recovering fine and that you do whatever it takes to make you happy and also recover quickly and well!

I know it must be the worst feeling in the world and I am so so sorry to hear that 🙁 I know you’re very much adored in this beauty blogging community and I am more than sure that with your situation, everyone would understand the break that you’re taking.

I will keep you in my prayers and hope you’re doing exceptionally well and also you that you are most importantly healthy!

I know how this feels because someone in my intermediate family experienced a miscarriage as well. I know that all you need now is the strength and the support from your loved ones to make you feel complete 🙂

Also, have a fun and safe trip in Hong Kong and most of all, stay safe, happy & well!

All my love, Joline xoxo 🙂

  4. You come back when you’re ready, love. It takes time. Am so glad your mum’s with you through all this. Nothing like mum and her cooking to carry you through the healing process 🙂

2013 will be your year yet, you wait and see. For whatever good that will happen 🙂

    • @Tine, Ahhh…definitely enjoyed this long blog break…even though I love blogs ‘n’ all, I just needed to time out and smell the roses and eat my mum’s food 🙂 Hope you’re having a lovely time in Malaysia eating your mum’s cooking 🙂

  5. One thing that always amazes me is that at the start of each year we can look forward and think we know whats in store for us but once we reach the end of the year and look back over the past 12mths it seems that year after year we are stunned at the twists and turns our life has made. So here we are again with a new year before us. Just remember you never really know what wonderful surprises are in store for us over the next 12mths 🙂

      • @Ling,

Well we are not even at the end of the first month yet and already we have had the most crazy few days of storms with EX TC Oswald but although I had a tree fall over and smash my clothesline thankfully there was no other damage and we are very lucky compared to many others. We weathered the storm really well.

My daughter had a surgery and sadly they found that things were worse then they had expected so she now needs a bigger and more major surgery which will require her having 6 weeks off work. Sadly centerlink will only help you out if you are 22 yrs or older. She turns 22 in March so we are trying to stall off her surgery as it would be very tough with no income for 6 weeks. Shes used all her holiday and sick pay with time off over this surgery.

But just like the storm im sure we will weather this health crisis of hers and all will be well….its will just take some time 🙂

        • @Anna M, Dear Anna, sending your family big hugs during this storm and health crisis of your daughter. Am so encouraged by the positive outlook you have!! *mwah*

  6. watched your yt videos for the first time, your accent is really cute lol, it doesnt sound australian? 😛
hope you’re doing okay, hope you have a safe trip to hk, xoxo

  7. I hope this year will be my year too. I have so many plans to do and the first resolution to fulfil is fulfilling resolution lol. Being procastinator is somewhat uncool, it happens to many lazy people like me. But in the end, new year has always given us new energy and motivation.
