A couple of weeks ago, an Arbonne PR emailed me and asked if I would like to select a couple of products from their website to test and review for the blog. After a quick browse through their website, I discovered that Arbonne are an established US brand who have lines in skincare, health & well-being and cosmetics. How could I refuse? There was such a wide selection to choose from but seeing as I only have one face and a gazillion skincare products still to use, I decided to choose a couple of lip products from their cosmetics range and today, I am going to review Arbonne Lipstick in Vintage Rose.
Vintage Rose swatches as a mauve shade…but on my lips, it’s a different story. I found it very difficult to capture the true colour from my camera as it looked so different in every picture I took – it ranged from soft pink to dark lilac! Pretty cool huh?
The packaging is pretty – I am a sucker for the embossed Arbonne logo on the box and I also love the sleek gunmetal-coloured lipstick casing. I would definitely not be embarrassed to be seen using this in a posh toilet in a high-class restaurant (not that I ever go to any, but you never know…)
Arbonne Lipstick in Vintage Rose is highly pigmented and I only needed one swipe to get colourful lips. The formula is matte and it picked up all the wrinkly lines of my lips. I would definitely recommend prepping lips first with a lip wrinkle filler. Or if you’re like me and don’t own such a product, exfoliate lips and then apply a conditioning lip balm before lipstick application.
The matte formula was surprisingly moisturising and didn’t dry out my lips – but if you want a touch of shine, apply gloss on top and your smile will be dazzling! I was impressed with the long-lasting performance of this lippy – it survived a lunch session of noodles and green tea. The BEST thing about Arbonne lipstick is that it is unscented. I could not smell nor taste it – which is a BIG thumbs-up from me.
Likes : Sleek packaging, unscented, super pigmented, moisturising
Dislikes : Nothing
Although I couldn’t find anything I dislike about the product, I will say that it’s a bummer that you can only buy Arbonne products online or via an Arbonne consultant. I enjoy going into make-up stores to browse their range and test products. Arbonne Lipsticks retail at $30 AUD which I think is reasonable for a good quality product. I’ll blog about the Lip Polish next week so keep an eye out for that.
Disclosure : Product was sent for review and has not influenced my opinions whatsoever, which is in accordance with the Disclosure Policy of The Best Beauty Blog. I also want to add that Keri, the Arbonne PR is one of the loveliest and most helpful PR’s I have dealt with. Thank you.
