A couple of months ago, I went on ASOS website to browse their sale items and I stumbled upon this sexy body con with mesh insert swimsuit

Description

  • Mesh swimsuit by ASOS Premium
  • Cut out section and mesh insert detail
  • High leg halter neck low back design

Hello?  The model looks so damn sexy wearing it.  Anyway, I posted this up on my Facebook and I got this reply from my cousin.  She said (and I quote), “R u being serious?!  That’s really tacky!” – and just because she said that, I went ahead and bought it!!!

Now there’s a problem, you see.  And that is – I CAN’T SWIM!  I hate the water and I have tried but failed miserably at learning to swim.  So why do I need a swimsuit??

Anyway, it was sunny today so I decided to do a bit of camwhoring in the swimsuit.  I love the cut-outs in the swimsuit and the halterneck style.  But I dislike that there is no padding in the boobs area – what if I wore it on a cold day…?  Need I say more?  Nipples alert!  There, I said it!

Note : no nipples are shown in the photos below.

So I totally disagree with my cousin. I don’t think I look tacky. Instead, the words – beached whale, flat chest, big belly and cellulite come to mind! LOL!

Girls, are you a swimsuit or bikini gal?  Guys, do you like girls wearing swimsuits or bikinis?

Ling, you look awesome in this swimsuit. In fact, you look just as good as the ASOS model with the killer body. Lol- same here, I can’t swim either (dry duck).

p/s: my sewing looks presentable on the outside but if you look in the inner side of the garment, the stitches are super zig zag..

@Squeeze The Pug, Thanks Peh Sun, you are too kind! Don’t think ASOS will be hunting me down to model any more swimsuits tho! LOL

You have got me wondering what I can revamp in my wardrobe with my limited sewing skills!

@Mei, Thanks Mei! Yes, I agree that swimming is healthy – but I don’t think it’s fun haha. But one day, I shall learn to swim…somehow. Good luck in finding a bathing suit!

Oh Ling I love your witty writing style<3
Mesh detail swimsuit actually look unique! I am a fan now. I don't think it look tacky because swimsuits are generally the same, main purpose is to reveal a little skin lol.
I don't like water either because when I was 6 years old I had a dream that I was abandoned in the middle of the ocean and there is no way out. Eventhough it was all in my mind the fear felt so real. Now I try and avoid open water lol, I hate how a dream can influence my mentality. However, I still like shallow swimming pools…just floating while holding onto the edge of the pool though haha.

@Tam, Hi Tam! Thanks for sharing your disliking of water too. I’m not the only one! But yeah, when something traumatic happens in your childhood, it can influence you for life! I am forever traumatised by spiders. My mum used to scare me with this wind-up spider toy…and now I can’t even think about them! *shudder*
