Beauty Bites featuring Canon, Laura Mercier, Eylure, Ulta3 & Daiso
Hello my lovely peeps! When you read this blog post, I will probably be bleeding from the surgical incision from my mini op. Damn, I wish I was having something “glamourous” like plastic surgery but alas, it’s not even remotely close to that. I have a blockage in my salivary gland… Yeah, how boring is that, right? I won’t be emerging with new eyelids or a lovely new nose or big boobies…I will just have a swollen mouth for days which means I can’t eat.
Anyway, enough boring chat from me and let’s have a look at this week’s Beauty Bites post.
My 1st DSLR : First up, please welcome my new toy! Like OMG! This is the best early birthday present EVER! (Psst, my birthday’s this coming Monday!!) Yes, the Husband got me a Canon 650D because I have been looking at improving my photography skills – all for the sake of this beauty blog! It is the bomb dot com. I know a lot of beauty bloggers say that it is not necessary to have a DSLR to have great photos…but I can really see the improvement in my pictures already. It’s a super amazing camera and I could go on all day about it! I was gutted to discover that 4 days after we bought it from JB Hi Fi, the price dropped by $200…but apparently, you can get a backdated discount…but guess what? We lost the freaking receipt!!! Anyway, just a side note – I am officially on a shopping ban because of this exxy purchase so no more hauls for a while. Le sigh.
Laura Mercier Power Couple : AKA Laura Mercier Foundation Primer + Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation (courtesy of PR)! Super duper love! A full review will be coming shortly but I thought I’d give you all a sneak peek. I don’t know what it is but I have stopped using BB creams at the moment and I have turned into a Foundation Queen! Love love love foundation!
I Love Katy Perry : There you go! I said it on my blog so it is now official! I don’t know what happened but I was never into Katy Perry or her songs and then when she got divorced from Russell Brand, something changed. Yep, her hair colour changed a lot…but there was just something different about her. I thought she looked sad, but she was strong too. Anyway, I wanted to go watch her docu-movie Katy Perry : Part Of Me but I couldn’t blackmail the Husband to go with me. I will patiently wait for the DVD. Meanwhile, I have been playing the music video for Part Of Me on repeat and I have been drooling over the falsies she has created with Eylure. Yup, that’s another review you have to wait for. Lunch Break & Lipsticks : So during one of my lunch breaks, I went shopping (this is before my ban) and bizarrely, my Husband knew exactly what I was doing! He knows me too well! And people think we got married because I wanted an Australian visa. Pfft! Anyway, I was so excited to see a big shelf of ulta3 lipsticks and I ended up choosing this magic green lippy (it’s not green though because it comes out pink-ish) and a matte black lippy. Ahhh, I still have to swatch it but look out for it on LipStalker.
Daiso Delights : Just a teeny tiny shopping haul from Daiso. I bought chalk to see if I can chalk my hair and make it colourful like the Kevin Murphy Color Bugs and I bought a new eyelash curler just because I couldn’t splash out on the new Shu Uemura Gold Eyelash Curler so I bought a Daiso Gold Eyelash Curler instead.

Please don’t use those chalks in your hair, they’ll strip it of moisture and they’ll damage it, and they won’t be pigmented enough to show up… You need artist chalks from the art store.

I just lost my old one and I went to Priceline to get one, I spent almost $20 in a eyelash curler that makes my eyes cry because it hurts them!! I was thinking to get the famous Shu Uemura until I saw this…and you know what? I really like it!! it is so good and so cheap that I´m totally happy!!

And yeah, I’ve been a bit quiet trying to recover and heal quickly to get back on track 
Will definitely be Instagramming a lot tomorrow because it will be my birthday hahaha!
And I love my Canon 650D – but it cost around $1200 – for a twin lens kit…and then don’t forget to add on memory card and camera bag so it will add up. I did look at other cameras too and the Canon 1100D (I think) is so cheap at the moment – like half the price. Definitely worth checking it out. Let me know what you get
