C for Clinique, CC Cream & Chubby Stick Intense!

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense, Clinique CC Cream

Today’s Clinique makeup porn is thanks to everyone who kindly voted me to be one of their Clinique It Girls!  :)  I got my paws on a couple of their recent releases – Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream and Clinique Chubby Stick Intense – and thought I’d share some pretty pictures of the products and my personal thoughts with my beauty blog readers…

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream

Before you ask me what is CC cream, here is a post I prepared earlier –> What is CC Cream?

Clinique CC Cream claims to “create skin’s natural glow in seconds” and on my skin, it does deliver that lovely dewy radiant finish with a bit of natural tint to even out uneven skin tone.  I like it because it is lightweight and gives me the “no makeup” makeup look and it is hydrating for a dry-skinned gal like me.

I also like how it is fuss-free and simple to apply in the mornings.  I just slap some onto my face and use my fingertips to blend.  No need to find a freshly washed clean make-up brush or clean sponge.

However, if you are looking for a CC cream to hide all your unwanted blemishes and provide heavier coverage, Clinique CC Cream may not be the most suitable CC cream for you…unless you use it as a priming base and add foundation on top for the extra coverage.

My advice is to head to your nearest Clinique counter and try before you buy.  It is priced at $45 AUD.

In Australia, Clinique CC Cream is available in 4 shades – Very Light, Light, Light Medium and Medium Deep.

On my arm swatches (from L to R) – Light, Light Medium and Medium Deep.

And just for giggles… here’s one of the photo outtakes (read : #beautybloggerfail) – and instead of swatches of the CC cream, you get a lovely photo of my wrinkly hand *hehe*…  (i.e. I am an easily amused preggo lady yo!)

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense – Grandest Grape

The good old Chubby Stick has been given an intensity hit and Chubby Stick Intense has joined the expanding Clinique family with a price tag of $35.  There are 8 fantastic new shades available and I had the pleasure of testing out Grandest Grape (BUT I WANT THEM ALL!).  Grandest Grape is an intense plummy warm violet shade which is great for vamping it up!

With the Grandest Grape Chubby Stick Intense, I find that it has slightly better lasting power than my Curvy Candy Chubby Stick but that’s probably because of the deeper colour as compared to the more natural pink.

And for another giggle, here’s an outtake of my lip swatch…where you can count all the strands of my hair if you so desire…or if that doesn’t tickle your fancy…look at my neck wrinkles….ARGHH!!  Must apply moisturiser to my neck!!!

Anyway, have you tried any of the recent releases from Clinique?  Has anyone tried the Chubby Stick Shadow Tint?  I’ve heard raving reviews about it…must see if I can get my paws on some to review ;)

I’m a bit too poor for Clinique but that shade is divine! It’s like a wintery version of the fuchias and neon pinks that are everywhere at the moment. You might start getting a bit fatigued soon, so going with a bright lippy instead of worrying about three eyeshadows etc is a good way of getting a bit more sleep in the morning! :D

@Ling, It’s nice but I think you would prefer a thicker balm since you like The Body Shop BB.

Do you think the Clinique CC Cream would be too heavy for combination/oily skin?

@Amy (Bubbles and Blush), Hmmm…no I don’t think it would be too heavy at all. But then again, correct me if I am wrong ;)
