Year 2013 is all about blushers for me. When I entered the spanking new Etude House store in Hong Kong (after queueing up for 10 minutes), the first thing to capture my attention was the beautiful girly pink display of the Etude House Princess Etoinette Special Kit. The price wasn’t displayed (it was HKD $420) but I didn’t care, I knew it was coming back with me to Australia. It was so precious that I took it in my hand carry luggage!
This is a photo fest beast of a blog post so be prepared to droooooooooool!

I was looking at recent photos of me and realised that my face looked flat as a pancake
Being Asian means that I have flat features like flat nose and flat boobs – but alas, NOT A FLAT STOMACH!!! Gurrrr!!!! Anyway, I decided to crack open a few bronzers to see if I could incorporate them into my make-up routine and learn to contour and define.

I gave you all a sneak peek yesterday – did you manage to guess what it was? It is one of the infamous Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compacts; let’s give a warm welcome to Wild Rose; given to me courtesy of the good people at Bobbi Brown.
Bobbi Brown Wild Rose Shimmer Brick Compact is part of their Rose Gold 2012 collection and it is Limited Edition. I repeat, Limited Edition – which means if you miss it, you miss out!
It is housed in the Bobbi Brown classic sleek black casing and once opened, there is an in-built mirror inside the lid and you will find five beautiful pink ultra-luxe pure pearl pigments staring right back atcha. My eyes twinkled with delight when I saw them in the pan.
The shimmer factor is high but the particles are smaller than your average-Joe-shimmers so I like to think of it as micro-shimmer. I find the colours really soft and delicate, but buildable.
Here are the swatches of Bobbi Brown Wild Rose Shimmer Brick Compact on my NC-30 skin in daylight:
I am loving Bobbi Brown Wild Rose Shimmer Brick because of how multi-talented it is. It can be used as :-
- Blush – for a rosy glow
- Highlighter – for luminous skin
- Eyeshadow – for shimmery lids
- Lips – yes, seriously, it adds a nice glow on top of lipstick
The ouch factor is the $85 AUD price tag but for a limited edition Bobbi Brown beauty, it’s worth it. The other shade available is Rose Gold and I can’t wait to swatch it when it lands on Australia’s beauty counters in May 2012.
Funnily enough, the first Bobbi Brown product I owned is also called Rose Gold and it contained shimmer too! It’s their infamous lip gloss : Bobbi Brown Rose Gold Shimmer Lip Gloss
Are you a Bobbi Brown fan? What Bobbi Brown products do you like? I heard their gel eyeliner is amazing!
Hi ladies, I know…I know…I said I would blog about the epic weekend that was #ABBW2011, but I have words constipation! I do! Every time I sit down to write about the weekend, I get lost and nothing comes out. I am sorry. But I have hyped it up so much that if I don’t write a fantastic post, I may disappoint…myself, mostly…sighs. But this post is kinda close because I’m talking about a gorgeous product I bought at that epic weekend when I was at IMAT Sydney…Oh yes…
The title says it all. I never knew blusher like this before until I set eyes on Ben Nye Coral Red Powder Rouge at IMATS Sydney. I had been lusting after Nars Exhibit A but totally couldn’t afford it so when I saw the $10 price tag on Ben Nye blushers, I knew I had to have it.
Strong, bright warm rich orange red which only needs a light touch with a blusher brush to achieve a beautiful colour to warm up my cheeks. I used this previously in the Urban Purple make-up video I did and you can see that I just lightly touched the blusher.
Admittedly, the packaging is not luxe. The embossed BN doesn’t wow me. But who cares when the shade is perfectly pigmented for me.
I am kicking myself now for not purchasing a couple more Ben Nye Powder Rouges when I had the chance.
Ben Nye Coral Red Powder Rouge, you had me at “Hello!”
What make-up products have had you at “Hello”?
I have had make-up obsessions with mascaras, lipglosses, eyeshadows and most recently, lipsticks – but never with blushers. I see plenty of beauty bloggers with a vast assortment of blushes, but they just don’t do much for me. My blusher collection is extremely feeble – it consists of a Revlon blusher/bronzer combo, a Red Earth blusher, a CoverGirl blusher and this Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in 05 Shy Wear (which incidentally was a GWP). Totally feeble huh? *blush* (pun intended – boy, am I the funny one today?!)

Sometimes I look at my Hubby and I get envious. Why? Because he has lovely rosy cheeks. (Aww…how I miss him…only 19 days till we are reunited!) As for me, I only have rosy cheeks when I am majorly embarrassed or when I have done exercise (which has been zilch recently – oops!). Thus, I like to fake a healthy rosy complexion with Revlon Beyond Natural Blush & Bronzer
Product Description
Revlon Beyond Natural Blush & Bronzer can be blended together or used separately to create a naturally sun-kissed look. The sheer, silky formula gives skin a soft glow of natural colour and the shade names co-ordinate with all products in the Beyond Natural range in order to determine the most suitable shade for skin.
My Opinions
- I love the subtle shades which suit my skin perfectly
- Looks very natural and gives my complexion that sun-kissed glow
- Does exactly what it claims
- Simply the best 10 out of 10
In conclusion : Revlon Beyond Natural Blush & Bronzer, you are perfect for me!
