Look At Me!??!! Geez, what a narcissistic title! Actually, please don’t look at my face – I was testing a new BB cream which did NOT photograph well. BUT, check out my eye make-up! For once, my eye make-up skills are not shockingly bad because I basically, followed the instructions at the back of The Body Shop 4-Step Smoky Eyes Palette in Smoky Copper…defined my brows with yesterday’s FOA HD Brow Kit and added false eyelashes (gotta fake it!)
I was glamming up for a Date Night with the Husband when I decided to try and recreate a seductive smoky eye – but I looked like I had bruised eyes with my first freestyle attempt. So I decided to rummage through my make-up stash and then I came across The Body Shop 4-Step Smoky Eyes Palette in Smoky Copper - which was part of a gift bag from a blog event. I knew it was time to crack it open and put it to the test.
I finally got round to swatching the Lime Crime Alchemy Palette that I bought a few weeks ago as part of the Alchemy Collection. It’s seriously so pretty that I had to force myself to swatch this. It went something along the lines of “Ling, you better swatch this NOW! Otherwise you cannot eat chips for the rest of 2012!” Nothing and I mean NOTHING comes between me and chips, so enjoy the swatches of the Lime Crime Alchemy Palette whilst I go and munch some chips now!
Happy Tuesday peeps! I am having one of the most hectic weeks EVER! Last weekend, I stupidly sat on my fat a$$ and ate my way up another dress size! This also means that I didn’t do any blog work WHATSOEVER and I dug into my photo albums and found Almay Wake Up Eyeshadow + Primer in Revive waiting to be blogged…
Almay Wake Up Eyeshadow + Primer in Revive – Get or Forget? Let’s find out…
Inspired by the infamous 50 Shades Of Grey novel, I did not get kinky (my Husband can only dream!) thought it would be a great idea to showcase 50 shades of grey of make-up!
You can watch the video to see all 50 shades of grey of make-up in action.
Keep your eyes open because in approximately 10 days time, Prestige Cosmetics debut their newest Total Intensity High Impact Eyeshadow collection. I was lucky enough to get sent the press pack. Thank you Prestige Cosmetics!!!
I would like to begin this post by saying 3 things about Illamasqua :-
1. Illamasqua, we salute you!!!!! Thank you for your recent campaign to fight for a fair beauty price in Australia! You have led the way by forever reducing your prices and word on the street is that other premium beauty brands are following suit. Woop woop!
2. In case you didn’t know, Illamasqua are a British beauty brand and I, myself, am a British born Asian – so basically, us Brits are awesome! Woop woop!
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadows launched in Australia last week. About time, methinks!!! It reminds me of the time when we waited so long for the Revlon Lip Butters. Anyway, I have seen them in Priceline (introductory price AU$10.15 but it will be AU$11.95 later) and at Chemist Warehouse (currently AU$9.99 as the Maybelline range has 15% off).
There are 10 shades available for Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadows : Too Cool, Fierce and Tangy, Audacious Asphalt, Painted Purple, Bad To The Bronze, Pomegranate Pink, Tough As Taupe (always sold out), Tenacious Teal, Bold Gold and Edgy Emerald (never any testers for that)
I umm-ed and ahh-ed, swatched and re-swatched and then decided on Audacious Asphalt – this is a pewter shimmery shade.
Don’t be fooled by my swatch of Audacious Asphalt. It may look quite tame, but it can be layered to get to your desired intensity of dark grey. I like it because as a dark eyeshadow base, it can transform and create lots of lovely colour combos.
Once upon a time when I was a young thing, I may have worn make-up for 20+ hours, but nowadays, I’m an old married granny so I have no need to wear make-up for more than 10 hours max. But yeah, Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadows are really impressive in that these cream gel eyeshadows really do not budge after they dry. I have to use a little bit of elbow grease to remove them with my make-up remover.
Here are some photos of my eye with Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadow in Audacious Asphalt alone, green layered over it and then some on top of that. Don’t laugh at my amateur make-up skills please. :P
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadows do live up to the hype. They are quite lovely, if I say so myself. I like that I can use them as an eyeshadow, a base and for eyelining purposes – and at the end of the night, there’s no creasing. Yay! Also, kudos to Maybelline for keeping the price of these babies reasonable and not making them rocket sky-high.
Have you purchased any of the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hr Eyeshadows? Which shade did you get?
