Comvita Hydrating Toning Mist

I believe this could be the first ever toner review on The Best Beauty Blog!!!  I’ve reviewed a lot of skincare products – cleansers, serums, moisturisers, face masks but not toners.  This is because I tend to skip the toning part of the skincare routine as my dry / sensitive skin cannot handle the drying effect of certain toners I have used before in the past.  However, when the Comvita PR emailed me and asked me to choose a product to review for the blog, I ended up choosing a toner – Comvita Hydrating Toning Mist.

I chose Comvita Hydrating Toning Mist because of this one line of description “Contains Comvita’s® scientifically researched HUNI®XA™ Manuka honey, to help slow the signs of ageing by supporting your skin’s natural elasticity“.  I am not a young spring chicken anymore so anything that slows the signs of ageing is worth trying in my books!  After a few weeks of testing, here is my review…

My Opinions

The instructions say that it can used a number of ways – over cleansed skin, morning and night, or mist over face anytime during the day, even over make-up.  I use it as a toner in the morning as I find it really refreshing and wakens me up as the toner gets sprayed and splashes over my face.  You see, Comvita Hydrating Toning Mist does not spray like a fine mist, but as big droplets of water which run down the face.  For this reason, I do not recommend spritzing it over make-up.  Sometimes when I have time, I will pat it till it soaks into my face – but most days, I will use a cotton pad to wipe the toner round my face so it dries faster.

Adding this extra step to my morning skincare routine has been seamless.  It’s difficult to gauge whether my skin has slower signs of ageing, but because I am feeling and looking more perky and awake from these splashes of toner, it has helped regain my youth – the youthful days where I bounced back easily from all-nighters and still looked good…

Comvita Hydrating Toning Mist contains manuka honey so obviously it smells and even tastes like honey…yes, I kinda licked it when it was dripping down my face…yum…but without the sticky factor.

Likes :  Smell and tastes like honey, non-sticky, refreshing in the mornings, doesn’t dry out skin
Dislikes :  Would prefer it if it was a fine mist instead of big droplets, extra step in morning routine

Comvita Hydrating Toning Mist retails at RRP $38.50 AUD for 150ml.  I would have no problem recommending this (honey water) toner for people with dry / sensitive skin who want a wake-up call in the mornings.  Great idea to refrigerate this bottle when it will definitely come in handy in the hot summer days in Melbourne – yes, I am dreaming of sunshine!

I have always skipped the toner as well, until the Kora Organics line came out. I use the rose water toner/spray, its awesome! This one seems odd as it doesn’t spray a fine mist, but it sounds yummy nonetheless!

I cannot imagine a skincare routine with toner. I’ve been using it for ages and think it is great that you finally discovered one you like and incorporated into your routine! I may need to check out this line of skincare. I currently use mostly Clarins!

Thank you for stopping by Bravoe Runway!

@bravoerunway, Cool, I have used a few Clarins products but they don’t amaze me. Which products do you recommend from them?
