Beauty & The Best (no beast)

Her Name Is Laura…

Laura Mercier Cheek Colour Brush, Pony Tail Brush, Smudge Brush, Flat Eye Liner Brush

No, I haven’t popped out my baby girl yet!  And no, we’re not going to call her Laura either.  But I’m talking about the Laura Mercier Touch Up Brush Clutch For Eyes & Cheeks which landed on my beauty desk recently.

*hehe*
But I fooled y’all for a second, didn’t I?
…crickets chirping…

Moving swiftly on…

The Laura Mercier travel-sized make-up brushes in this quartet are :-

  • Cheek Colour Brush
  • Pony Tail Brush
  • Smudge Brush
  • Flat Eye Liner Brush

This is my first time trialling Laura Mercier make-up brushes so I don’t know how these travel-sized brushes compare to the full-sized brushes, but let me tell you that the quality of these mini-me brushes are great.

The bristles feel lovely on my skin – i.e. not scratchy and irritating.  I have washed them a couple of times already (#thingsIdoonmaternityleave) and the bristles have retained their shape well with minimal shedding.  The size of the brushes are dinky and compact but not to the point that they are difficult to use.

However, I am not a huge fan of the mini brown clutch it comes in.  The latch is a bit flimsy and the design doesn’t exude the same sophistication as the brushes.

Anyway, this would make a great Christmas gift for any beauty lovers in your life who travel a lot.  It’s available at David Jones for RRP $75 AUD.  Unfortunately, I am not going to be doing any travelling in the next couple of months…but the Cheek Colour and Pony Tail brushes have made its way into my Hospital Make-Up Bag – hey, I gotta look good for photos *winks*

For another $20, Laura Mercier have a Luxe Travel Brush Collection RRP $95 AUD which comes with a full-sized brush and 4 dual-ended brushes :

  • Full-Size Cheek Colour Brush
  • Secret Camouflage/Camouflage Powder Brush
  • All Over Eye Colour/Pony Tail Brush
  • Crease/Smudge Brush
  • Angled Eye Liner/Flat Eye Liner Brush

If you’re on the hunt for some new make-up brushes, add these babies onto your Christmas wishlist :)

Nice to meet you. Your blog is really neat… And I think Laura is a nice name. Particularly when one can sing tell Laura I love her. Hahahaha

Love the quality of these brushes and the fact that actually you can use all of them. Exactly what you need for traveling. Space for lipgloss and mascara.

Although this is a small set, the bristles are superb quality, exactly the same as Laura Mercier’s regular sized brushes. I adore the smudge brush and the cheek brush is so soft.

Oooo. I really want this now. A small, hard case like this would be great for travelling.
