So, I finally unpacked my holiday suitcase and I managed to take a few pics of my holiday haul. Wanna see what beauty products I bought in Hong Kong and UK? Read on…
Beauty products I bought in Hong Kong : Olay Aquaction Deep Hydrating Dew, Olay Aquaction Intensive Nourishing Emulsion, NOYL Liposh, Koji Eyelash Fix Glue, L’Oreal Paris Super Liner Brow Designer Pro, Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer, Etude House Drawing Show Creamy Liner, Etude House Hairtools Bangs Cut Kit and other were freebies
Non-beauty products I bought in Hong Kong : Uniqlo jeans x 3, Uniqlo leggings x 3, dresses from Mong Kok Argyle Centre, neon pink flats, cheapy (but not fake designer) handbags from market stalls, etc (oops, can’t quite remember as they’re packed away somewhere now)
In Hong Kong, my favourite go-to shops for beauty products are Sasa, Watsons, Mannings, Colormix, Etude House, Shu Uemura, Yata…okay, the list is endless…but if you’ve been to Hong Kong, you’ll know that there are plenty beauty stores wherever you go in all streets and malls so you won’t have trouble spending money haha! However, point to note, I went round a lot of beauty stores to look for nail glue to glue a broken nail back together and surprisingly, nowhere had it. WTF? Stupid me forgot to pack my Daiso Nail Glue…but the first thing I did in UK was to buy nail glue to save my nail
Would also like to say that things aren’t as cheap as they used to be in Hong Kong…and it is definitely not the most baby friendly place!
Beauty products I bought in UK : Nail glue (hah!), Murad Sun Undone Radiant Skin Renewal Set, MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer, MUA Matte Palette, Primark Felt Eye Liner Pen, Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in 132 Caprice, YSL Rouge Pur Couture in 52 Rosy Coral, YSL Gloss Volupte in 20 Nude Carat, YSL La Laque Couture in 48 Rose Scabiosa and 16 Mauve Naif (One of my other sisters T offered to buy me the new YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush and Urban Decay goodies, but I declined. Totes regret it now haha!)
Non-beauty products include : Primark goodies – sunnies, dresses, tops, shoes, PJs, lingerie, jacket, etc, Bench hoodie, etc, etc (total mind blank!!)
In UK, I have plenty of favourite shops. I miss them so much!! Boots (oh em gee, BOOTS!), Superdrug, Debenhams (great points card they have in the Beauty section now!), M&S (surprisingly, they have plenty of great beauty brands including Nuxe, Murad, etc) and Primark (LOVE!), New Look, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, endless list… I am homesick!!
Funnily enough, things are REALLY cheap in UK compared to HK and I enjoyed shopping more in UK. You can try before you buy and get refunds plus UK is so much more baby-friendly than Hong Kong.
*Before eagle-eyed readers remind me that I am supposed to be on a spending ban, Project 100 Pan, where I cannot buy any beauty products until I use up 100 items, it doesn’t count because I didn’t actually spend any money. All purchases (including food!) in Hong Kong were courtesy of my sister, Y – who lives & works there since last year – and all expenses in UK were courtesy of my parents. I was totally spoilt rotten (especially since they knew about our slight hiccup in finances due to my husband suddenly becoming unemployed – it’s been 4 months now, sigh – anyone out there wanting to give a hardworking man a job?! He went for 2 interviews this week but one of the workplaces sucked and the other workplace is like over an hour away. I know it’s “better than nothing” but… I know there is a fantastic job out there waiting for him!) Anyway, enough “woe is me” and hopefully, I’ll get a chance to blog again before the week is over
