I had a dream last night … some of my teeth fell out … I dunno if it fell out or came out all I know is I was eating something then I spat it out and I could see teeth!!! 🙁 is there a reason for this Dr?

A very concerned reader sent me this message.

My job description is Dentist and not Dream Interpreter, but I did try to help by consulting my BFF aka Google.

Here are my findings :-

1.  Dreams of teeth falling out may be a sign of insecurity.  These dreams often occur at a time of transition from one phase of life to another.  {source}

2.  In  some countries, it’s a sign of death.  {source}

3.  Teeth in dreams represent your strength. When you see your own teeth falling out in a dream this means that you are losing your power.  {source}

4.  Loss of teeth in dreams represent fear.  This dream is a message to make sure that you are 100% healthy as it can signify some type of illness – go to the doctor and get yourself checked out if you feel unwell.  {source}

I, myself, have had vivid dreams of my teeth decaying and falling out.  It’s pretty scary…almost nightmarish.  But to be honest, I’m not a believer of dream interpretations.

However, what say you on this topic?  And do you have any other tooth-related questions I can use for next week’s TGIF dental topic?  Leave me a comment!

    if there is blood when your tooth or teeth dropped off, it is someone closer to you

    if not, just someone u know!

    Lol I don’t believe dreams have hidden meanings. I think we would all be pretty devastated if we lost our teeth and we must subconsciously fear it which I think leads to the dreams. I have ‘teeth falling out’ dreams all the time, so horrible haha. I love waking up and realising they are all still there xoxo

    I dream they are really loose. Which makes it very hard to talk. Not attractive at all.

    If I miss a dental appointment, I keep on dreaming that my teeth fell out until I go to the dentist and have my teeth checked and have the dentist do what needs to be done. The dream will stop after that, as soon as I miss my next appointment, the dream comes back:)

    Omg! I’ve had this dream a few times and I absolutely HATE it. It’s just out of no where, my teeth just come off – like how they did for your baby teeth! Like maybe I’d be eating something and I’d feel one being wobbly..and then poof! it would come out. I think at one stage, a whole bunch of them came out at once and my mouth was filled with teeth ! Ughh it was so baddd.

    I told my mum this and she says it was a sign that someone was going to die 😐 …that didn’t help my fear at all >_>

    I only started having dream relating to teeth 6 months back and i reckon that’s due to my relocation to Sydney. It’s indeed pretty scary and definitely a nightmare and how relieved i was when i woke up finding my real teeth are intact. I actually went to a dentist back at home immediately after I had the dream. Not sure but i concur, its likely am feeling insecure – financially right now as I am just done with my wedding and yet to found a job right now. Lifestyle has change pretty drastically for me since I no longer can splurge on branded items , facial and my favourite random online shopping!

      @Isabel, Yay! Congrats on wedding! It is hard to settle into a new place…it’s like me…I’ve been here for a year and still a bit unsettled and don’t have my dream job and can’t afford simple luxuries – gah!!!

    I’m absolutely terrified of having loose teeth,(no clue why) so I have dreams about them falling out when they’re loose. But it’s a good thing then, because having loose teeth makes life absolutely miserable for me.

      @Becca, Loose teeth is a sign of gum disease…and it definitely doesn’t sound nice at all!

    Dreaming of your teeth falling out is a sign of aging, or that one is getting older.

    I had these dreams in my late 20’s and 30’s. Haven’t and one in awhile.
