iSwatch is basically swatches of beauty products taken with my iPhone – see what I did there? *winks* The photos won’t be the best quality and there won’t be in-depth product reviews but it will just be swatches and basic product info. Today’s iSwatch is the Chanel CC Cream which I swatched in Hong Kong – specifically, the Chanel store in Sha Tin. What is CC cream you ask? If you have time, read this.
In short, this is Chanel’s definition of CC Cream – an ideal cream for day-long confidence with a lightweight, non-oily, comfortable texture which delivers complete correction and natural-looking, long-wear makeup.
Product Description : Chanel CC Cream
Chanel CC Cream’s full name is Chanel Complete Correction SPF 30 / PA+++ 20 and at the time of writing, is only available in one shade – Beige. It comes in a 30ml tube.
Apparently, it is “backed by true expertise regarding the precise needs of Asian women in terms of flawless skin. Within moments, skin appears flawless and glows with a natural beauty. The complexion is visibly even-toned, fresh and radiant.”
Chanel CC Cream combines 5 actions in 1 single step:
1. SOOTHES. Cornflower water comforts sensitive skin.
2. MOISTURIZES. Hyaluronic acid helps maintain hydration level all day long by trapping and retaining moisture inside the skin.
3. PROTECTS. SPF 30 and PA+++ sun filters block aging-accelerating UVA-UVB rays. A mineral filter guarantees higher tolerance on the skin.
4. PREVENTS. An active ingredient of natural origin, Rejuvencia, provides the best shield against external aggressions.
5. EVENS OUT IMPERFECTIONS. Redness, dark spots and pores are visibly diminished.
Sounds like every other BB Cream out there, right??
Chanel CC Cream Swatch
Please note that these photos were taken with my iPhone under non-ideal store lighting. And I also felt like a right twat doing this in a Chanel store where the Hong Kong SA’s had their eyes glued to me. But oh well, a beauty blogger’s gotta do what a beauty blogger has to do! I am guessing my hand shade is NC-30 / 35. The Chanel CC Cream is very yellow – which makes it suitable for us South East Asians.
I was prepared to splash my cash and buy the Chanel CC Cream if it had wowed me. Sadly, I was underwhelmed, but my purse thanked me! 😉 In my opinion, it was just another BB cream with a hefty price tag…and when I say another BB cream, let me say I have tried better. But then again, that was my initial impressions so who knows…? Maybe I am too quick to judge? And I probably went in with high expectations because it is Chanel.
Chanel CC Cream is not currently available in Australia. I think it is an Asia exclusive. In Hong Kong, this retails for $430 HKD – a tad pricey for a 30ml non-spectacular-packaged Chanel product.
Thank you for reading another iSwatch post. If you have any beauty products you would like me to stealthily swatch on my iPhone, give me a holler 😉
