Some of my girlfriends have been hardcore fans of Lancome cosmetics and skincare.  And the most popular YouTube make-up guru, Michelle Phan, does monthly video tutorials using Lancome products.  Anyway, I have purchased Lancome mascaras and their Juicy Tubes before, but I hadn’t tried their skincare products yet.  Curious to test it out, I bought a 15ml sample size of Lancome Primordiale Nuit Skin Recharge from Sasa.

Lancome, night cream, nuit skin recharge

Product Description

An unctuous creamy texture and infused with a relaxing fragrance, intensely regenerate your skin overnight. From the 1st morning, a new regenerated skin is born : perfectly rested, hydrated, revitalised. Night after night, 1st wrinkles are visibly reduced, skin is radiant and vibrantly younger.

My Opinions

  • My first thought upon opening the jar was the flowery smell.  It was rather overpowering for my sensitive nostrils.
  • The rich creamy texture was appealing for my dry sensitive skin.
  • However, after using it for 2 nights, I woke up with a dry rashy skin patch on my cheek.
  • I wasn’t testing out any new skincare product at the time, so I concluded that my skin was reacting to this Lancome moisturiser.  Perhaps, it was the fragrance.
  • Good thing I only bought a sample size!

Sadly, Lancome Primordiale Nuit Skin Recharge doesn’t recharge me as it doesn’t agree with my skin.  However, I believe that everyone’s skin reacts differently to different products and just because it did not agree with me, it may do miracles on another person.

Have you used any Lancome skincare products before?  What was your experience like?

  1. I personally against the idea of using any skin care product that comes in a jar. First one you open the lid the contents get exposed to air and stuff and the formula gets messed up and second you get to dip your fingers in it and therefore there is a big chance you can transfer bacteria and stuff into the product!

    Always choose a tube

    • @Nouf, That’s very true. But then again, how many moisturisers come in tubes? Not many. There are some moisturisers in a jar which provide a mini spatula for scooping out cream – so I guess that is better than dipping your fingers in it.

Do you have any moisturisers you could recommend? Thanks!

  2. I have a couple of suggestions here:

    1. (Expert Sensitive Hydrating Moisturizer) from Boots: It’s a gentle, fragrance-free formula that’s suitable for sensitive or rosacea-affected skin

    2. (Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer, for Very Dry to Dry Skin) from Clinique: This Super Rescue formula is the richest of Clinique’s three Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizers, and is appropriate for dry to very dry skin.

    3. (Yes To Carrots Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15) from Yes To Carrots: This is a very good daytime moisturizer with sunscreen for normal to dry skin not prone to blemishes.

I hope the above helps <3

  3. I have been using primordiale and other lancome products for more than 10 years. I am 37, but no one can tell that. I look like I am in my 20’s, so they must be really good for my skin.
