Shatter and crackle nail polishes have lost its appeal.  I am now digging magnetic nail polishes.  You may remember that I bought my first magnetic nail polish, LAYLA Magneffect 24 Starry Night at Salon Melbourne.  Well, what do you know?  I got sent two more from the same brand so I thought I’d swatch all 3 of them for you.

But before I do that…some of you may be confused – What on earth is a magnetic nail polish?  Well, a magnetic nail polish contains iron powder which means it can be manipulated with a magnet (usually on top of the lid).  In doing so, wavy patterns are created from using the magnet whilst the nail polish is in the drying process.  That will either sound totally awesome or totally confusing!  Let’s just look at the pretty pictures…

LAYLA Magneffect 03 Blue Grey Flow

LAYLA Magneffect 03 Blue Grey Flow : I love this beautiful wavy gunmetal blue sheen.  It somehow reminded me of a car…like a sexy cool car driven by a boy racer.  Don’t ask!

LAYLA Magneffect 15 Glamour Lilac

LAYLA Magneffect 15 Glamour Lilac : I don’t know why but I had a lot of trouble with this shade.  I just couldn’t get it to magnet-ify (yes, I like to make up my own words!).  But it definitely looked better in real life than it does on the photo.  I actually like the lilac silvery sheen of the non-magnetified version.

LAYLA Magneffect 24 Starry Night

LAYLA Magneffect 24 Starry Night : Oh yes, what a beauty!  It’s very galaxy-like.  This was my favourite out of the bunch.

LAYLA Magneffect Magnetic Effect Nail Polishes contain no formaldehyde, toluene, camphor or DBP.  They are available in Price Attack stores around Australia and cost RRP $19.95 (but I bought one for $10 from an Asian retailer somewhere in Melbourne – sorry, I forgot their address!)

Have you tried any magnetic nail polishes yet?  Which one did you like out of the 3?

@Lisa, Not thick at all. I need two layers for it to fully be opaque 🙂
