My Afternoon at Melbourne Central plus Details of the One Day Shopping Festival on 5th September

Melbourne Central One Day Shopping Festival, Melbourne Central, Melbourne Central One Day Shopping Festival 2013

Listen up Melbournistas, Melbourne Central is the place to be tomorrow for their One Day Shopping Festival!  Yup, Thursday 5th September 2013 from 10am to 10pm!

Yours truly got a wee taster of the awesome beauty experiences available at Melbourne Central yesterday afternoon…

Mecca Maxima in Melbourne Central

First up, I went to Mecca Maxima AKA Beauty Blogger Heaven and browsed shelf after shelf of goodies.  Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder is CALLING OUT MY NAME!!  Anyway, I was entitled to a free skincare consultation or makeup lesson, but I had forgotten to book an appointment!  #beautybloggerfail  So I kinda went “undercover” and OH MY DAYS!!  The Mecca Maxima Sales Assistants were SO LOVELY!!  One of them came up to me and asked if I wanted to try any skincare products and I said, “Yes, the Eve Lom Cleanser…” and she basically went all out to demonstrate it on my hand and even depotted a few products in sample pots for me to try WITHOUT TRYING TO HARD SELL AT ALL!!  Now that is what I call excellent customer service!

Toni & Guy Melbourne Central

Next up was a Complimentary Blow Dry at Toni & Guy Salon…but I had to find the salon first… Melbourne Central is BIG so it’s easy for a ‘burban bumpkin like me to get lost.  I started prodding one of those touchscreen directory tv screen things and working out the stick man’s instructions is also a tricky one too.  But then a lovely Melbourne Central Security Guard dude voluntarily came to my rescue and directed me to Toni & Guy in simple terms “Go up the escalator and turn right!”  Wow!!  Either it’s my monster baby bump which is getting me all this extra special attention OR people working in Melbourne Central are extra nice OR both!!!

So at Toni & Guy’s, the friendly Jordan took care of my mop and suggested a big bouncy voluminous blow wave.  I was like, “Yup, do what you can to my nest!” but she was like, “Your hair is so healthy and so easy to blow wave!”  And whaddya know?!  45 minutes I walked out with super shiny bouncy hair!  That girl sure has skills!!!

Of course, I had to take selfies galore!

Fat blob eating Guzman Y Gomez Melbourne

After all that pampering, I did a spot of shopping as I was kindly gifted a $50 voucher to spend at Melbourne Central… But I look like a fat blob in everything so didn’t buy anything and ended up eating instead! :P  Will return another day and spend the $50 voucher – what do you think I should buy?

Anyway, enough about me… You can run along to Melbourne Central tomorrow and check out the amazing beauty AND non-beauty events!

As part of the Melbourne Central One Day Shopping Festival, many of Melbourne Central’s beauty retailers will host in-store events and larger activities including :-

  • Mecca Maxima’s complimentary lash, lip and nail bar
  • Toni & Guy’s free 15 minute hair makeovers
  • Cupcake Central cupcake themed nail art bar
  • Meet and greet with Jurlique’s National Education Manager for personal consultations
  • L’Occitane free pop-up hand massage station
  • Napoleon Perdis in-store workshop
  • Many more…

I wish I lived in Melbourne, such a great city. I wish I could be there tomorrow, how awesome! I’m over there fro a holiday/shopping in November, looking forward to that. Your hair looks good, a blow dry always makes you feel a million bucks… p.s. I don’t think you look like a fat blob, you’re looking great! :)
