update on my goals for 2014

We are nearly halfway through 2014!  It will be July next week – how scary is that?!  I thought it was time to give an update on how I am going with my goals for 2014 seeing as a lot of you were super supportive in the comments section 🙂

1. I’m embarking on a Project 100 Pan.

You saw my holiday haul recently, but I did have a loophole 😛  But it has been great challenging myself to use up a lot of products.  There is something sort of satisfying about using the last remnants of a product.  I have a box in my Beauty Room with empty bottles and jars so I shall churn out some P100P posts soon.

2. This year, I will learn to love myself more.

Hmmm…tricky one to define…but I think I am learning to love myself.  Not in a totally up-my-own-arse type of way.  Will work on this more, methinks.

3. Grow me some balls!

They are growing!!!  Example – There’s this person who intimidates me because s/he has a tendency to look down on me even though we are in similar league except s/he is older and very articulate (read : talks boring stuff like politics).  Well, I grabbed my little balls and just went and spoke to them when I saw them recently and like I was all cool and that – we spoke non-political stuff but more, general normal down-to-earth people stuff.  The OLD me would have just shrivelled in the corner as s/he likes to ignore my presence.  Maybe we will be friends one day – not Facebook friends, but just “Hi, how are you?” friend.

4. Consolidate, consolidate, consolidate!

I am doing so well in the consolidation department!  *pats myself on the back*  I have nearly 95% wiped out my old blog and moved all the posts here.  I’ve deleted emails galore.  I have sorted through many products and chucked out the un-useable stuff and given away plenty.  I am not a minimalist by far, but I have definitely consolidated and I can’t wait to do more.

5. Take lots more photos and improve my photography skills.

I have been reading my camera manual.  It is boring as…but necessary to help me improve my photography.  I have dabbled with Manual Mode and ooh, it’s really difficult to wrap my head around the photography jargon but it’s happening!

6. Laugh more!

I did a lot of laughing when I was back home in Scotland.  I like to come up with these stupid witty jokes and laugh at my friends and make them laugh at me.  It was sooooo fun!  I wish all my Scottish friends would move to Australia!

7.  Embrace motherhood.

Yep.  Loving it.  Except the dirty nappies and the grumpy bum stages she goes through.  But I seriously love it!

8.  Lose my pregnancy weight and tone up

Okay, so this was not one of my original goals…because if you remember correctly, I was rather happy with the amount of weight that I was shedding without even trying.  I have plateaued!  And even though I am VERY close to my original weight, my belly just FLOPS out whenever I eat a big meal and I look 6 months preggers again.  In fact, when I was overseas this year, there were 2 people who asked me if I was pregnant with my second baby!  YEP!  THEY ASKED ME THAT WHEN BUNTY WAS ONLY 3 MONTHS OLD!  LIKE WTF?!!  Thanks for insulting me!  Anyway, I need to get my exercise on…but it’s kinda hard to find the motivation to get me fired up to get of my arse and do some exercise!  I refuse to diet so I have to exercise…sighs!  Wish me luck!

Did you have any goals for 2014?  How are you going with them?  Let’s keep each other motivated 🙂

kudos to you for setting your goals and actually working hard to do them. Mine was to be more happy, with myself and the people around me. It’s definitely a struggle but it makes me happy seeing you’re taking the necessary steps to get there 😀 Mummy-hood is definitely a burst of happiness and a new adventure 😀
