Lancome DreamTone Dark Spot Corrector : Allow me to start off with a disclaimer. I am a marketer’s wet dream. Show me any beauty product beautifully packaged in pink and I’ll throw myself all over it like the girls when they met The Bachelor (oops, did I just reveal my new reality TV obsession?!). This Lancome bottle is not only pink, but it is one up with ombre pink!!!
Add in some classy engraving of a rose which you simply must run your finger over every time you use it…
…and an ingenious dispensing twist cap which pumps out the serum and I’m already hyperventilating a la Anastasia Steele from Fifty Shades Of
Dodgy Grey!!! And we haven’t even got to the contents inside the bottle yet!!!
So, onto the serum that is Lancome DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector – there are 3 serums in the range made to cater for different pigmentation concerns :-
- Pigmentation profile 1 – Fair skin tone, red marks after acne / blemishes and experiencing unevenness such as colour irregularities
- Pigmentation profile 2 – Fair / medium skin tone, redness around the nose area, experiencing colour difference and sallowness
- Pigmentation profile 3 – Darker skin, dull skin and colour irregularities between forehead and cheeks
I have yellow Asian skin and you can play connect the dots with the unwanted pigmented blotches (no, they are not affectionately known as freckles!) on my face. This was a PR sample so unfortunately, I trialled Pigmentation profile 1 for fair skin so clearly, it wasn’t really suited to my skin tone nor concerns so it is unfair when I say that it didn’t work on targeting my skin issues.
However, saying that, I finished using the entire bottle of Lancome DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector because it was a fantastic serum in terms of hydration (in the summer / autumnal months – not sure if it would be as effective during winter) and since it is slightly tinted, it had an immediate brightening glowy dreamy effect on the skin. Not only that, but I loved the rosy scent.
Lancome DreamTone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector may not have banished my dreaded dark spots, but it had me from hello with its sexy pink packaging, kept my skin looking glowy and made it smell like roses.
