Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter In Pink Truffle 001
Hallelujah! I finally cracked open my Revlon Lip Butters. It only took me a month of umm-ing and ahh-ing! It’s not available in Australia yet but it has been released in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. I bought 2 Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in Hong Kong and today I’m only going to show you Pink Truffle here but if you want to see what the fuss is all about with Macaroon, head to my other beauty blog Lip Stalker.
Pink Truffle is one of those pink nudey brown shades; kinda similar to NYX Frappucino. Pink Truffle applied much easier than Macaroon and has a smooth, even, semi-glossy finish.
I know the beauty blogging world has been going mad crazy over these babies, but to be honest, just between you and me, they are nothing spesh.
In my opinion, Revlon Lip Butters are not hydrating enough to be a lip balm. My lips dry out without wearing lip balm first and if you have any flakiness, AVOID! They are closer to being a lipstick but lack the sensuality. The bullet shape and the packaging just haven’t pushed my buttons.
As you can see from the photo, my lip lines are severely indented and Revlon Lip Butter doesn’t iron them out.
When a product gets too hyped up, it can be met with disappointment. I think I fell victim to this. Sighs.
But I love that the sweet vanilla scent is very faint and that the Lip Butter, although not buttery, isn’t heavy on my lips.
I have no idea when Revlon Lip Butters will be available in Australia, but I know that I won’t be fussed about purchasing more in the range…although I may get Lollipop (if it is available here) as it looks like a fun shade to add to my collection.
Don’t forget to check out Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon.
What’s the last beauty product you got hyped up about but when you got it, you were rather disappointed?

08/02/2012 at 10:30 am (471 days ago)Oh no! I think I’ve been hyped up by these too! I’m hoping the Maybelline Bouncy Blush are good, they’re another I’ve been waiting for. I have Benefit’s They’re Real mascara waiting in my bathroom to try, another talked up product that I hope works as well as they say!

@Michaela, Ooh, that’s what happens when we avid beauty blog readers LOL.
I’m looking forward to Maybelline Colour Tattoos (I think they’re called that) and I also have a Benefit It’s Real mascara too waiting to be tested.

08/02/2012 at 10:51 pm (471 days ago)Lol the first person to be meh over lip butters, most bloggers have been meh to the lighter shades but i thunk thus is definitely a first. I totally know what u mean though, when things are too hyped up, it loses it’s allure! I definitely can’t wait until it releases in NZ~ just so i can try one out ^____^

@Jennifer huang, I felt kinda bad for going “Meh, whatever!” but it’s good to be honest, right? And ooh, do you know when it’s going to be released in NZ?

09/02/2012 at 9:32 am (470 days ago)I love this colour Pink Truffle! It is the shade I’m always looking for but can never find. I’m not into dark or heavy colours or lipsticks and this lip butter sounds perfect for me anyway. Will definitely try it out when it’s available in Australia. Thanks for the review ♥

Thanks Ling. I have quite thin lips and I find lipsticks just don’t work for me. Glosses and lip-stains do however!

26/03/2012 at 7:28 am (424 days ago)I AM SOOOOOOO GLAD TO SEE YOUR REVIEW! I’ve been thinking I might be those weirdos with weird dry genetics that have super dry lips because its just not what it hyped up to be for me! And definitely not worth the price of the hype. It’s even more terrible than a normal lipstick for me, simply because of the hype.

@Dawn, On the lips, they are totally different. Pink Truffle is like MLBB (my lips but better) and Macaroon is more red and in your face

28/06/2012 at 3:23 am (330 days ago)i bought the lip butter in strawberry shortcake. its a pretty color but nothing unusual. but the staying powers sucks!!! and theres not a lot of product to begin with.
i was dissapointed with the Niki Minaj Viva Glam Lipstick. all my friends said i needed to get it so i got it and the color was garish. but we all learn from misteaks lol;)
