Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow

There are so many drugstore gems and awesome make-up sales at the moment that I feel it is my duty, as a friendly beauty blogger, to tempt you all to buy more make-up to fill up your stash!  With all Revlon products slashed to 50% off at Chemist Warehouse – GET IN QUICK! – keep an eye out (har-de-har!) for their new eyeshadow offerings – Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow + Sparkle.

Allow me to give you a quick lowdown on Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow + Sparkle before you race out to shop…

Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow

It comes in a sturdy-ish travel-friendly case with 2 dual-ended eyeshadow applicator spoolies (that you probably won’t use unless you have been a lazy gal and all your eyeshadow brushes are dirty) with no mirror on the inner lid.

For eyeshadow noobs, don’t panic because Revlon have kindly provided instructions on the back of the case.

Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow

As an oily-lidded girl, I am extremely happy to find eyeshadow primer in the palette!!  And I like all things sparkly, so it’s delightful to have an option to apply a sparkle top coat.

Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow

As you can see, there is a wide assortment of eyeshadow colours to choose from – neutral nudey tones to colourful brights.  If however, you are a dedicated matte eyeshadow lover forever, you may want to pass on Revlon Photoready Primer + Shadow + Sparkle.

Some eyeshadows were harder to work with than others, some had fall-out, some sparkle felt a bit gritty, some didn’t suit my Asian eyelids and some were smooth as a baby’s bottom – but it’s difficult for me to give you a detailed review on all the individual palettes.  My advice – head to your local Revlon counter and swatch away till you find a favourite or two, and proceed to checkout 🙂

  1. The sales are awesome at the moment, I want to purchase everything! I was looking at these the other day but didn’t get any. However after reading this I think I might go back down to my local Chemist Warehouse and get some, you can’t say no to 50% off!

  2. Aww I would have liked it if you had given your thoughts on what your favourite palette was and which ones had the smooth consistencies and the ones that didn’t work as well! I’m loving the neutral brown and purple palettes, it’s great that there is something there for everyone. I love the 50% off deal Chemist Warehouse are having at the moment- I might pick up a few more things 🙂

    • @Karen, Ooooh, so hard to choose my favourite…but will think about it and hopefully, get back to you… Meanwhile, have you picked any up yet? Can’t believe they are doing such a great sale!! I WANT EVERYTHING!

  3. I looked at these in Priceline the other day, I liked a couple of them. Thanks for the post 🙂

  4. Wow another very good post. I’ve never experienced with multiple colors but maybe I’ll give it a try.
    Thanks and continue 🙂

  5. Hmm, been hearing mixed reviews on this, so I’ve managed to abstain thus far! Shame as they look great though! Quick question, how many hours of creaseproof wear do you get using the primer?

  6. I really like Revlon’s previous eyeshadow palettes and have been looking forward to trying one of these. Will head to Priceline and do some serious swatching soon x

  7. Amazing result when you follow the application instructions on the back! I think a lot of time and thought has gone into this product and it certainly pays off….my new fave!

  8. I’ve wanted to get one of these for so long! I’ve been seeing it everywhere but just never actually gone and got it. Again sounds really good from your review. Maybe I should just go for it! 🙂 xxx
