Shiffa Dubai Tamanu Moisturising Cream – Past Its Expiry Date But Still So Good!!!
Would you use a moisturiser on your precious face that had past its expiry date? I did, with Shiffa Dubai Tamanu Moisturising Cream – and let me tell you, I have no regrets!
It was my fault really. Being a beauty blogger, I have an abundance of beauty products waiting to grace my face / hair / body. So it wasn’t as if I had bypassed Shiffa Dubai Tamanu Moisturising Cream because I didn’t WANT to try it, but its because it looked so luxe in its pretty packaging with the cardboard box and ribbon. I didn’t want to disturb it. But when I eventually did, I realised the cream had expired!!!
I was faced (pun alert!) with a dilemma – either risk it and slather it on my precious dry / sensitive face or slap the expensive cream on my dehydrated legs. I chose the former. And it was a great choice!
Shiffa Dubai Tamanu Moisturising Cream is a very rich cream that works wonder on dry-skinned ladies like me. Not only is it nourishing, but I feel that it has helped firm up my skin too. The key ingredients are tamanu plant oil (yeah, I’ve not heard of it either), Chilean rosehip oil (oh yes, I know that one), jojoba and avocado oil.
It may not be the most hygienic practice to dip fingers into a tub, but I can definitely think of less hygienic finger-dipping activities and I shall say no more! *ahem*
So yes, I slap this on at night and wake up with smooth, soft and supple skin! And it is so rich that I don’t need a serum beforehand to boost the hydration.
But, an important point to note is that my Husband thinks it has an unpleasant smell as it is very pungent. It is a Husband-repellent, but I personally, do not mind it myself
Shiffa Dubai Tamanu Moisturising Cream retails at $160 AUD for 50ml – so you can see why I was hesitant to waste it on my legs
Shiffa Dubai products are available to purchase online at Miss Fox in Melbourne or in their beautiful salon.
Disclosure : This moisturiser was part of the awesome MBBE 2011 goody bag. I do not normally recommend applying expired beauty products. If in doubt, chuck it out.

Cute packaging! I like anything tied up in ribbon

@E-von, Thanks E-von. I have been trying to tweak the design but it’s still not perfect…but oh well. Anyway, yeah – maybe that explains the smell….I am nearly finished with it so yay!!!
P.S. – I tried to comment on your blog but it doesn’t work!! I also tried RSS Feed but also, doesn’t work
So I’m sorry for not being able to comment on your blog

19/02/2013 at 3:36 pm (93 days ago)I am SO bad at using past best before dated products, but I am kind of lucky in that my skin isn’t as sensitive as it used to be.

This looks super luxe – though, I would say that being a husband repellent could actually be a positive attribute

Gosh, I think I’ve been in that position myself regarding éxpired’ products, it’s a tough one, isn’t it?!
I’ve heard of Tamanu oil but not of this particular brand! Great review as always!
