Nail Polish Love : China Glaze Beauty & The Beach

China Glaze Beauty & The Beach swatches, China Glaze blue polish, turquoise nail polish, China Glaze swatches, China Glaze Australia

Happy Monday ladies!  Like OMG, I have had the most beauty tip-tastic (yes that is a word :P) weekend after attending the L’Oreal Paris & Marie Claire Beauty Workshop on Saturday and learning from the infamous Rae Morris.  And then yesterday, I had a Makeup Masterclass with Master Makeup, Dean Nixon – who was oh-so-funny!!!!  I can’t wait to gather all these beauty tips together and share them with you in a blog post… BUT the problem is – I discovered Candy Crush Saga and my life has changed.  I am UBER obsessed so the beauty blog posts may be a bit slow for the next week or two!  I must conquer it!!!!!

Anyway, luckily, I still had one unpublished post left…so take it away China Glaze Beauty & The Beach!

Hello Haul : I Heart To Shop

I heart to shop, i love to shop

Hello!  Thanks for all the loving caring messages I received regarding my head injury last week.  You can’t get rid of little old me that easily because I officially put my beauty blogging hat back on yesterday and I am ready to roll.  First up, by popular demand (submit your reader request on Facebook), is a shopping haul post.  As you should ALL know by now, I LOVE to shop and hoard…but this will probably be the last haul post of 2012 as I should be am on a spending ban till I go to Hong Kong in January!!  (Note :  Bans were made to be broken :P)

Without further ado (Grammar Police Alert!  Not “adieu” like some people incorrectly write and say…), here is my collective shopping haul of the last few weeks…

China Glaze Capitol Colours : Foie Gras & Luxe And Lush Swatches

EDIT : Beauty blogger blunder – This was Foie Gras, NOT Mahogany Magic! Well, spotted Brittney!  Apologies for any mix-up caused!

China Glaze nail polish swatches, flaky topcoat, The Hunger Games nail polishes

The Hunger Games – what does this mean to you?  To me, it meant nothing…until I ooh-ed and aah-ed over the new China Glaze Capital Colours collection which is inspired by The Hunger Games – the most anticipated movie release of the year.  Have I been living under a rock??  Anyway, who cares and let’s get on with today’s nail polish swatches of China Glaze Mahogany Magic Foie Gras & Luxe And Lush – which was kindly sent to me by PR.

China Glaze Foie Gras

China Glaze brown creme polish, swatches, nails, China Glaze Foie Gras

China Glaze Mahogany Magic is a taupe-brown creme which requires 2 coats for full opacity.    Like all the other China Glaze nail polishes in my collection, this exudes a beautiful sheen thanks to the China Clay they contain.  I think it’s a sophisticated colour, but my sister said it aged me.  “Yeah, whatever!”

China Glaze Foie Gras & Luxe And Lush

China Glaze nail polish swatches, flaky top coat, The Hunger Games

It truly was a magical moment when I layered China Glaze Luxe And Lush on top of Foie Gras.  This flakie top coat really knows how to attract attention with its chunky flakes which look green, gold, pink under direct sunlight.  Compared to my other flakie from AustralisChina Glaze Luxe And Lush dries with more texture and it feels like chunky bits of glitter.  I didn’t mind it but if you do, a clear top coat will smooth out any roughness.

China Glaze Capitol Colours

My love for China Glaze Nail Lacquers continues.  I just wish that it was easier for us to get our hands on China Glaze in shops in Melbourne.

So…about The Hunger Games?  Is it worth me reading the book?  Should I watch the movie instead?  And will you be getting any China Glaze Capital Colours?

Get All Hot ‘n’ Spicy With China Glaze Salsa

Happy Saturday!!! It’s been a quiet week on The Best Beauty Blog as I still haven’t recovered my mojo after server issues wiped my unpublished pending posts clean. BUT I promise that I’ll be back next week and it’s going to Hair Week!!! (Thank you to the 8 awesome ladies who Liked this idea on our Facebook page!) Anyway, I dug out some old photos from the hard drive and guess what I found – China Glaze Salsa! *cue salsa music*

I used to have a guy friend who taught me a little bit of salsa. It’s a very sensual dance – very hot and spicy! How apt of China Glaze to name this sexy red creme nail polish Salsa! Anyway, back to the guy friend who developed a schoolboy crush on me (I am 5 years older than him) – I used to be one of his BFF’s until I got married and he hasn’t spoken to me since. SICK, I tell ya! Moving on…

I love the shiny finish with all the China Glaze nail lacquers. I am totally in love with China Glaze Salsa!!!

Have you tried any China Glaze nail polishes? Have you got any interesting stories to share about guys who crushed on you? Now is the time to share!!!

Ombré Nails

Ombré hair which features dark to light colour is extremely trendy at the moment.  Yours truly is not as trendy in the hair department, but I played around with some nail colours and came up with my takes on ombré nails – pink, blue and purple.

Pink Ombré Nails

Featuring Bourjois So Laque! Rose Lounge (yes, the one worn by Kate Middleton on her wedding day – which I wore on MY wedding day which was way before hers so I am indeed a trend-setter LOL), FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Nail Enamel Cotton Candy*, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Nail Enamel Beauty Queen, Sally Hansen HD Digital and CoverGirl Continuous Color Midnight Mauve.

Pink ombré nails are right up my street!!!  Massive love for this!  But I am biased because pink is my favourite colour.

Blue Ombré Nails

Featuring Nicole by OPI Diva Into The Pool*, Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish Azure, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Nail Enamel Ocean Villa*, China Glaze First Mate* and MUA Shade 1.

Ooooh, blue ombré nails turned out really well.  Sounds silly but it reminds me of the sea and crashing waves.  See, told you it was silly!!

Purple Ombré Nails

Featuring Primark Nail Polish Lilac, Mode Cosmetics Midsummer Dream, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Molten Metallics Amethyst*, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Private Jet* and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Pat On The Black.

My purple ombré nails need a bit of tweaking methinks.  Not too happy with the poor quality lilac polish I own.  Reminds me of Autumn for some reason.

Which one is your favourite ombré nails – pink, blue or purple?

China Glaze Limbo Bimbo

China Glaze Limbo Bimbo is the ultimate Barbie pink colour!!  I wear it whenever I am feeling girly.  It really brightens up the dreary rainy days we have been having in Melbourne recently.

China Glaze nail polish

China Glaze has more amazing colours.  I definitely want to get my hands on some China Glaze Crackle polishes.  For more information, please check out the China Glaze website.

This product was sent to me for review purposes but all opinions are my own.

China Glaze First Mate

China Glaze is a famous name in the professional nail care industry.  Their unique nail lacquers contain China Clay as a nail hardener – the same material that gives porcelain its shiny finish.  I was delighted when I was sent China Glaze First Mate from their Anchors Away collection to review.

I lost my China Glaze virginity to First Mate!!!!  LOL!!!

China Glaze blue nail polish, China Glaze Australia

China Glaze First Mate is a beautiful royal navy blue colour which looks absolutely amazing with my skin tone!  I only needed one coat to achieve this rich colour and I was genuinely surprised at the extra shiny finish – it must be the China Clay.

China Glaze nail polish, First Mate, royal blue

Even my Husband complimented my shiny nails.  And compliments from him are very rare!  Looked fab paired up with my nautical blue striped handbag!

China Glaze nail polish

China Glaze First Mate was the first China Glaze nail lacquer I have ever tried and I was extremely pleased with it.  Loved the colour and shiny finish.  Loved that I only needed one coat of polish.  Loved the even distribution of colour without blobs.  And love the fact that all China Glaze colours are free of DBP, toluene and formaldehyde.
