Me Time AKA Indulging in Whatever Tickles My Fancy

indulging in whatever tickles my fancy

Fantastic news!  Hubby got a job which he started last week which explains the lack of posts due to full-on SAHM (stay at home mum) duties.  And boy, I seriously underestimated how a mini human could keep me so busy!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love my little fambam dearly but when they went on a Daddy Daughter Date recently (they actually went supermarket shopping in Coles hehe), I was beyond ecstatic to have a couple hours of “me time” to indulge in whatever tickled my fancy.  The first thing I did was strip naked…

You know when you go to the supermarket and you pop in a lipstick (or two!) in your shopping trolley and it’s still considered “groceries”… Well, you can also buy high end cosmetics, specifically (lip) crayons, and consider that “stationery supplies”!  You like?

If so, here are 3 luxe lip crayons you should check out :-

  • Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in 01 Curviest Caramel
  • Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Harlow Red*

5 Face Masks To Suit All Skin Types & Budgets

When I was back in my hometown Glasgow a few weeks ago, one of the first few things my lovely mother did for me was to book me in for a facial at the beauty salon.  I used to get facials ALL THE TIME back in my pre-Aussie days (before 2009) because :-

1.  I was vain (okay, I kinda still am!) and wanted to have amazing looking skin whilst I was flirting with all the guys (yes, I used to be a big flirt too!)
2.  I used to have a semi-stressful lifestyle where I worked really hard and partied even harder so I earned good money (back then!) and could afford/needed to pamper myself

Nowadays, facials at a beauty salon are a long-lost luxury for me.  Instead, I have to resort to good old DIY (even have to trim my own hair!) facials at home with face masks which I’ve had fun testing (anything non-nappy-related is fun for me these days haha!)

Anyway, let’s take a look at them together and maybe you’ll find one that will tickle your fancy…

14 Beauty Products To Help You Rock Radiant Orchid

radiant orchid beauty products

Radiant Orchid is the Pantone Colour of 2014 – I love it!  It’s bright, happy and eye-catching.  Not only can you wear this purple hue as clothing, shoes and accessories, you can add pops of colour in your beauty routine too.  However, you probably should not wear head to toe in Radiant Orchid – unless you want to look like Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 😛  Each to their own!

To get the deets on 14 beauty products which will help you rock Radiant Orchid, read all about it on my guest post at Breakfast With Audrey.

Who else is loving the colour?

Basic Smokey Brown Eyes – Step By Step Tutorial

Clinique eyeshadow primer, Clinique quad

Hi peeps!  I’m still pregnant but I have been offline for a couple of days due to the arrival of my Momma from UK and the breakdown of internet at home.  I had a couple of false labour contractions (Braxton Hicks) and they were bloody agony so I’m definitely going to take all the drugs when it is time.  Anyway, due to lack of preparation even though I said I would blog like a maniac, I thought I would blog about a Smokey Brown Eye Tutorial I did for one of my Clinique It Girl posts recently.

Smokey brown eyes are now my usual eye look these days.  It took me a while to get into neutral eyeshadow but Urban Decay Naked 2 did it for me

<< Off tangent, but do you like the new Urban Decay Naked 3?  To be honest, I’m a little bit over it, but I do like the rose gold swatches but doubt I’ll be splashing out on it… >>

C for Clinique, CC Cream & Chubby Stick Intense!

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense, Clinique CC Cream

Today’s Clinique makeup porn is thanks to everyone who kindly voted me to be one of their Clinique It Girls!  🙂  I got my paws on a couple of their recent releases – Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream and Clinique Chubby Stick Intense – and thought I’d share some pretty pictures of the products and my personal thoughts with my beauty blog readers…

Hi ladies, you may remember that I told you I am a top 5 Clinique It Girl Finalist.  Well, today is the last day to get people’s votes in so please, please, please head to Clinique Australia Facebook Page  and help vote for me.  Even if you have voted for me before, you can vote again…and again!  Yes, you can vote as many times as you want!  O_O  Voting ends at 5pm on 13/3/13!!!  YIKES!!!  { THANKS FOR THOSE WHO VOTED – I WON!!! }

If you were wondering how I managed to get into the top 5, we had to get into the top 10 first, which required a written review (of under 200 words) and photos of any Clinique product of choice.  Unfortunately, I didn’t read about the Clinique It Girl competition until 2 days before the deadline so I was totally not prepared!  Luckily, I did a quick browse through my unedited blog photos and found the photos of Clinique Curvy Candy Chubby Stick – and can you remember I split my head open a few months ago whilst taking blog photos? Yes!  It was whilst I was taking photos of Clinique Curvy Candy Chubby Stick!!!  LOL!  Anyway, here’s the review I wrote…
