Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup – Review & Swatches

Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Foundation

Hi peeps, I’m still alive.  Less stressed than last week, but unfortunately still stressed so bear with me until I can get back to a regular blogging schedule.  Thanks 🙂

In my early twenties, I flirted a lot with a wide range of beauty brands and Elizabeth Arden was one of them.  Back then, all the magazines raved about their Eight Hour Cream and I bought it…and it was okay…but not spectacular.  Instead, my skin loved their Visible Difference range.  Fast forward a couple of years and I started to think that Elizabeth Arden was WAY too mature for me.  I still continued to love their Green Tea EDT though 😛  Anyway, I am now in my early thirties and Elizabeth Arden has caught up with me again with their Prevage range and now, their make-up in the form of Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup.

{Review & Giveaway} Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging + Intensive Repair Daily Serum

review of Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging + Intensive Repair Daily Serum, Elizabeth Arden Prevage serum, review of Elizabeth Arden serum

When I speak to my non-beauty blogging friends around my age (late twenties / early thirties) about skincare, they always look at me as if I am crazy for using anti-aging skincare products.  They think I am “too young” – like hello?  I’ve been using anti-aging products since my early twenties!  How else can I get away with looking like I’m younger than my actual age?!!  Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging + Intensive Repair Daily Serum is one the newest anti-aging power packed serums to hit the beauty market.  I was given the privilege to trial this for review and better still, there’s one to giveaway to one lucky Aussie reader (more on that later).

Recent Haulage For Ms Selfish Shopper

I confess.  I am Ms Selfish Shopper.  Contrary to popular belief, I am not a big fan of shopping.  But when I do go shopping, I shop for myself.  I have good intentions to buy something for someone else, but 99% of the time, I will end up buying something for myself.  Does that happen to you too?

Here’s my recent haulage…

1.  White booties with a side bow ($15 from imagination world) : Oh so adorable!  How could I refuse?

2.   Handbag dress ($10 from imagination world) :  Certainly not the prettiest dress I own…but it’s kinda cute AND it stretches!!!  Great for my expanding food baby belly!!

3.   Dotti oversized black sunglasses x 2 ($26 altogether – Buy One Get One Free from Dotti) : I’m a sucker for BOGOF anything!!!  And yes, these are my nth pair of oversized black sunnies…!!!

4.  Skin79 BB Miniature Set ($10 from an Asian stall in Chadstone) :  First of all, aren’t they the cutest things EVER?!!!  Second of all, BB creams!!  Thirdly, 10 buckaroos?  Get in my overflowing beauty drawers, already!!!

5.  Elizabeth Arden Advanced Lip-Fix Cream (<$28 from feelunique.com) : As you all know, I recently started a lip beauty blog so I need to get my lips in prime condition for swatching.  I asked my favourite lip beauty guru, Akisa from beautyswatch, for advice and this is the lip primer she recommended.  I ordered it online because it was much cheaper…but it took 4 weeks to arrive!

6.  December edition of Madison magazine with free Butter London nail polish ($8.95 from 7-11) :  Have I mentioned that I have an obsession with magazines with beauty freebies?

7.  Lindt Lindor Extra Dark chocolate balls ($5 from Sweet As) : I actually bought 4 boxes of these babies!!  They are going cheap because the expiry date is end of January.  These will be devoured before the end of next week!!

And there you go!  Ms Selfish Shopper strikes again!

What have you hauled recently?

Wedding Bells Outfit Of The Day & Make-Up

Last weekend, my friends J and J got married.  Mrs J looked stunning.  I had a fantastic time and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had used our personalised wedding vows for their vows!  Word for word!!  I had tissues ready but I didn’t cry.  And the reception food was good and I got tipsy after drinking a glass of white wine!

Prior to the wedding, Mrs J had asked me for some beauty advice and my best tip was to get flawless skin – which is not an easy feat!!  For my wedding, I prepped my skin 7 days before the wedding with Babor Express Relief Fluid – and my skin was glowing.  I also recommended Bioeffect EGF Serum and Alpha-H products leading up to the wedding…  Turns out Mrs J’s skin broke out from using Bioeffect…and she ordered a stack of Alpha-H but never got round to using it – but Babor saved the day!!  (I felt awful that Mrs J’s skin broke out from using Bioeffect…but my skin loves it!  I started using it again 4 days before the wedding on Saturday and sure enough, my skin plumped out and had that lovely glow…and in fact, I’m still using it this week because I can’t get enough of it.)

OOTD : Outfit Of The Day

My Husband and I had a last minute panic attack on Friday night.  Both of us have put on a lot of weight since getting married last year so he couldn’t fit into his suit and threatened to wear jeans!  But in the end, he found a semi-formal pair of trousers (or pants, like the Aussies call them) and a shirt.  I thought he looked like a bus driver!

For my outfit, I wore a red one-shouldered dress from Review.  I bought it last year when I was much skinnier…thank God I managed to squeeze into it.  I had to suck my belly in the whole day!!!  And I wore my nude patent peeptoes from Tony Bianco.

FOTD : Face Of The Day

For my hair and make-up, I used a LOT of products :

Hair
Washed with muk products* the night before.  Created volume with VS Sassoon Big Hair Root Boost* and straightened with ghd’s and smoothed tips with Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil*.

Face

Eyes

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion Greed* – Primes oily eyelids and adds that extra shimmer under eyeshadows
  • FACE OF AUSTRALIA Colour Max Eyeshadow Palette Gold Mine* – Used matte brown shade for brows.
  • Mirenesse Pearl Crush Creaseless Shadows in Conch Pearls* – A subtle gunmetal grey smokey eye
  • Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner – My first time using this and I was so disappointed because the 0.1mm tip is too fine and hard to control!  But I will learn to master it!
  • Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara* – Rose-scented mascara which lengthens.  Love! (Full review)
  • Note : I forgot to conceal my dark circles under eyes!  FAIL!

Lips

  • Elizabeth Arden Advanced Lip-Fix Cream – Been using this as a lip primer…but undecided about how I feel about it.  I purchased it at a fab price and free shipping from here but it took 4 weeks to deliver though…)
  • Savvy by DB Lip Liner Poppy – I ALWAYS line my lips and shade it in if I wear red lippy.  ALWAYS!
  • CoverGirl TruShine Lipstick in 500 Cranberry – One of my favourite reds…but it’s discontinued!!  WHY?!!
  • Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss in Eric* – LOVE!  (Full review and swatch)

(Products marked with * were not purchased by me.  I either got sent it for editorial consideration or I got it in a goody bag.)

This blog post is dedicated to the newlyweds and I wish them a loving life-long marriage full of joy, laughter, love and babies!
