Review : Winging It with Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner in Australia, Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Push-Up Liner

If you’re a cosmetics chaser, you will have read on many beauty blogs about the soon-to-be-released Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner.  I was a lucky duck (quack, quack) and got my hands on one of these babies a few weeks ago and I’ve given it a good trial run.

For the first time ever, out of all the Benefit cosmetics I have tried – Fake Up (HG undereye concealer), POREfessionalDr Feelgood, Ultra Plush Lip Gloss, They’re Real Mascara (my HG!), etc – this is the first one I didn’t fall in love with straight away!!  My verdict of this highly-raved gel eyeliner pen is that I like it, but I don’t love it.

Let me tell you why…

Smashbox Girls On Film Cream Eye Liner Travel Brush Set – A Smash Hit?

Smashbox recently launched their new and limited edition, Girls On Film Colour Collection, in Australia.  With eyeshadow palettes, cream eyeliners, blushers and lip glosses in the press release, I was an eager beaver and didn’t hesitate to ask the PR if I could review any product in the collection.  And that is how Smashbox Girls On Film Cream Eye Liner Travel Brush Set in Blacklight landed on my doorstep.

I ooh-ed and aah-ed over it for days.  The cream black eyeliner with a hint of blue pearl looked so beautiful in its wee glass jar – I didn’t want to dip into it to crack the seamless surface with the flat-edged liner brush.  But you know, a beauty blogger’s gotta do her job so read on to find out if this Smashbox product was a smash hit.

Avon Color Trend Mini Eyeliners Are Adorable!

Cute things are usually small.  True or false?  If you answered true, then you have just agreed that I am cute!  MUHAHAHA!  Because I am a shortie!  I am small.  It means I am cute!  Yes?!  Okay, okay, I’ll stop because you need to check these cute little adorable babies out – Avon Color Trend Mini Eyeliners!!!

Avon eyeliners

One of my colleagues is an Avon lady so I’ve pored over their wee brochures countless times but never bought anything because money has been lacking, recently.  Boo!  But I couldn’t resist when I saw these little beauties at $2 AUD each and snapped up the entire collection – black, blue, green and gold.

Let’s get realistic here and accept that these are just handbag handy items and not long-lasting, pigment-yielding HG eyeliners.  Avon Color Trend Mini Eyeliners are the size of my palm and they are simply adorable!  And I’m a sucker for anything adorable.  Le sigh!

Have you bought anything from Avon lately?

Nude By Nature Natural Mineral Eyeliner In Brown

I don’t normally buy brown eyeliners but I got this – Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Eyeliner in Brown – free with my Priceline haul a while ago.   I have never heard of the brand Nude by Nature but it turns out that it is Australia’s number one mineral make-up brand.

  • Loving the double ends – one end is eyeliner and the other end is an eyeliner smudger (demonstrated in the photo above)
  • Waterproof – so it is ideal for tightlining eyes

  • Colour isn’t very pigmented
  • Smudges too easily with the smudger making colour too faint

Overall Rating

I’m not particularly keen on Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Eyeliner in Brown, but perhaps if I had the black version, I would be more accepting towards it.  I have tried using it as an eyebrow pencil with minimal success.  I guess it just wasn’t meant to be…
