How To Trim Your Own Hair & Colour It Like A Pro

How to Trim Your Own Hair & Colour It

Before I went on holiday, I had been suffering from consecutive bad hair days.  I blamed the baby.  { I blame everything on my poor baby! => first sign of a bad mother 😛 }  Anyway, to combat this, I decided to give myself a DIY hair makeover.

DIY hair makeovers are fantastic for new mummies like me because :-

1.  It means you don’t have to find a babysitter or take a cranky baby to a hair salon.
2.  You can save money.  Nappies are expensive and babies pee / poo a lot.
3.  It beats having to do housework when the baby is napping.

For my DIY hair makeover, I gave myself a trim PLUS coloured my hair.  It was super easy and here’s how I did it with some helpful hints for you to attempt your own DIY hair makeover.

Happy National Good Hair Day!

Toni & Guy Georges Melbourne blogger event

Happy Friday everyone! Did you know that today is National Good Hair Day? Well, now you do 🙂 Hope you are all having a good hair day! If not, just toss your hair back and forth and roughen it up and call it “Sexy Bed Head” or something 😛

In the photo above, I am with Jenny from My Funny Valentine at a beauty blogging event – she’s such a babe! We are both sporting awesome hair after an amazing blow wave at Toni & Guy Georges in Melbourne CBD plus the hot red lips are courtesy of Napoleon Perdis MUA’s.

My New Toy… (38mm girth & 12 inches long!!)

being pregnant might be all kinds of sexy...

WARNING : This post may contain words of a sexual nature…

Being pregnant might be all kinds of sexy for some people…  But for me, it’s a BIG FAT NO!  The last thing I feel these days is SEXY!  I’m carrying an extra 10kg in weight, walking around with a big bowling ball and feeling so moody, hungry and tired ALL THE TIME!!  And let’s not talk about how under pressure I am to exude that “pregnancy glow” when my skin has gone on a crazy flake-out…and as for that “thick luscious pregnancy sexy hair”, mine is as limp as that Miley Cyrus VMA performance!

So in order to amp up the sex appeal factor, I got myself a new toy…  It’s sizzling hot and smooth with a girth of 38mm and around 12 inches long… 😉  Can you guess what it is?

I Had An Awesome Hair Day Thanks To TONI&GUY Hair Products

Asian hair, tousled hair, shiny hair, Chinese hair

The title says it all really.  But I was seriously having an awesome hair day where no heat styling whatsoever was used to manipulate my hair.  (FYI : Photos of my awesome hair are unedited!)

It was sexy.  It had volume.  It radiated shine.  It was soft, but it had texture.  And all I had to do was use a selection of TONI&GUY hair products to achieve this result!

TONI & GUY Australia, TONI&GUY hair products review

I started off with a few drops of TONI&GUY Shine Gloss Serum to iron out the frizzies and then I scrunched and finger twirled my hair with the TONI&GUY Sea Salt Texturising Spray.  There was some spritzing with TONI&GUY Moisturising Shine Spray for extra glossiness.  And I finished it off with a light spray of TONI&GUY Extreme Hold Hairspray to hold up the volume I created.

It was like I created a magic concoction of Awesome Hair.

And before anyone screams “Product overload!”, I used the TONI&GUY Deep Clean Shampoo (for Men, may I add!) to remove the product build up.  Result!

TONI&GUY Australia

Allow me to finish off this post with saying that I was sent this fantastic surprise package from TONI&GUY.  Not only did I get hair products galore, but there was also a lovely book called Blogged & Bound featuring 20 of Australia’s influential fashion bloggers (hey, what about us beauty bloggers? :P)

If any of you are wanting to try out TONI&GUY hair products, head to your nearest Priceline as I saw them on offer with 15% off (if memory serves me correctly…)

Anyway, what products give you awesome hair days?  Have you tried TONI&GUY hair products before?  I believe they are new to Australia…but being a Brit, I have loved them for ages.  In fact, one of my favourite haircuts was from the TONI&GUY Hair Salon in Glasgow.  Ah…that makes me a bit homesick…
