FOTD Challenge : Candy

I had so much fun doing SaraMay’s FOTD Challenge yesterday that I decided to do today’s challenge too – Candy.  When I think of candy, I think of lots of (artificial) colours.  I just went crazy with the colour and here is what I came up with…

FOTD, colourful, candy, make-up

My right eye is based on Skittles and M&Ms.  My left eye is based on those strawberries and cream twirly lollipops.  My lips are like mixed berry candy.  Pretty colourful huh?

FOTD, candy, cosmetics

Tempted to keep the make-up on till my Husband comes home.  He gets freaked out when I put on too much make-up.  He tends to prefer me au naturale.

To intensify the shades of the eyeshadows, I find that Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper (see what I did there – candy – get it? Ok, I’m not funny!) does a fantastic job.

I couldn’t find any lollies in the house to pose with but I found my colourful handbag chain and put it on top of my head.

OMG Moment Of The Day!

As I was typing up this blog post, my postman knocked on the door and I went out looking like this :

FOTD, Candy, Make-Up

Okay, how awkward?!!!  I’m wearing my cutesy PJs and I look like a clown LOLOL.  I saw him stifle laughter and I couldn’t have gone any redder with the amount of make-up I had on.  Groan!  How embarrassing!!

EDIT :  Sheeeeeesh!!!  ANOTHER Postman rocked up at my door!!!!!!!!!

FOTD Challenge : Cleopatra

The lovely Sara-May has been doing a FOTD Challenge on her beauty blog and all of the looks she has created has been amazing.  A number of other beauty bloggers have participated in this too.  Today’s FOTD Challenge is Cleopatra – it was my suggestion so it is only right that I participate, although I did struggle with it.  I kept jabbing my eye!!!  I’ll never be a make-up artist but it’s still fun to play with make-up!

Here’s my take on Cleopatra :-

When I think of Cleopatra, I think of strong brows, bold eyes with thick black eyeliner, sculpted cheeks and red lips.

The eyelashes are from KKCenterHK – EYE’S CHIC 816 Bird Of Paradise Fake Eyelashes*^.  The inner half is criss-cross and the outer half is outrageously long.  They are pretty cool but not suitable for everyday use.

KKCenterHK Fake Eyelashes

KKCenterHK is a Hong Kong-based website which sells fake eyelashes, wigs and eye make-up at very competitive prices.  They kindly sent me two pairs of fake eyelashes for review on The Best Beauty Blog – an upper and lower set of false lashes.

ES HandMade Natural And Lengthening Eyelashes (ES A133)

KKCenterHK upper lashes

Wearing KKCenterHK eyelashes

  • Comes in a box of 10 pairs of lashes for an affordable $9.34USD
  • Lashes were relatively easy to apply as the bands were flexible so can be easily moulded to any eye shape
  • Impressive thick luscious lashes

KKCenterHK upper lashes

  • Must trim off the ends before application
  • The website says that lashes can be reused if you “take them off carefully”  – but in my experience, I felt that these lashes were more for single use as they weren’t capable to withstand being reused

ES Brand Clear Band Half-Densely Lower Lashes (ES A023)

KKCenterHK lower eyelashes

Wearing KKCenterHK fake eyelash set

  • Comes in a box of 10 pairs for an affordable $7.78USD
  • Good for those with non-existent lower lashes (that’s me!)
  • Loved the clear band as a black band would be trickier to apply on the lower lash line

KKCenterHK lower lashes

  • Again, must trim off the ends before application
  • As it was my first time wearing fake lower lashes, I thought I looked somewhat creepy…almost like a porcelain doll from a horror movie!!

KKCentreHK fake lash set

The photos were taken without any make-up to show them in their natural states.  I think they will look even better once incorporated with eye make-up.  I will do a FOTD with them in the future.

KKCenterHK have a large range of false eyelashes for all occasions at very affordable prices.  I would definitely recommend that you check out their website if you are a frequent wearer of falsies.  But please do bear in mind that shipping may take slightly longer as they are based in Hong Kong.  I’ve seen a few wigs that I might want to get – just for fun!

Here are affiliate links to the lashes I reviewed :

And if you want to check out their wigs and eyeshadows, you can click on the link to KKCenterHK website (affiliate) or KKCenterHK website (non-affiliate).

Affiliate means that if you click on the link and purchase something from the KKCenterHK website, I will get points (K-Money) towards my KKCenterHK account so that I can redeem products from them.

Although I have signed up for their affiliate program and the products were provided, this has not affected my opinions expressed here.
