What I Bought At The Priceline Sale

priceline haul

Aussie ladies, in case you’ve been hiding under a rock, Priceline has been doing one of their infamous 40% off cosmetics sales and today is their last day so head there after work or alternatively, shop online ūüôā

Anyway, I braved the masses today and went into Priceline with Bunty in a pram { yes, I got plenty of death stares as I crashed into ankles ūüėõ } and here’s what I bought…

Nude By Nature Powder Brush Gives Me A Make-Up-Brush-Gasm!

Nude By Nature Powder, natural make-up

Do you know what my favourite make-up brush is? ¬†It is a big fluffy powder brush! ¬†Why? ¬†Because I love how the big soft fluffy bristles feel against my face and how it delicately tickles my not-so-delicate flat Asian nose. ¬†No other make-up brush gives me that much satisfaction. ¬†It’s like a make-up-brush-gasm (i.e make-up brush + orgasm)…if there is such a thing. ¬†No? ¬†Okay, it’s just me then…

Anyway, this will explain what happened when I received a Nude By Nature care package… ¬†In the box, I immediately noticed a trio of lip glosses – which I promptly reviewed – and a couple of make-up items which I ooh-ed over…and THEN I SAW THE POWDER BRUSH!

I tested the bristles on my hand and I knew that this Nude By Nature Powder Brush was a goodie. ¬†It was lovely, fluffy and supersoft. ¬†INSTANT LOVE and that make-up-brush-gasm I was talking about earlier…ahem…

Anyway, my care package included the perfect accessory to road-test the Powder Brush and that was in the form of the Nude By Nature Mineral Finishing Veil.

Nude By Nature mineral review, Nude by Nature powder

Nude By Nature Mineral Finishing Veil is a finely-milled translucent finishing powder AKA “Oily Face Police”. ¬†I like it but I don’t love it. ¬†But that’s because of the packaging fault of the holes. ¬†The powder just gets EVERYWHERE! ¬†Up my nose, down my throat, on my bathroom floor…you get the picture!

So yeah… go and test out the Nude By Nature Powder Brush¬† ($14.95 AUD) and see if it gives you a make-up-brush-gasm too. ¬†As for the¬†Nude By Nature Mineral Finishing Veil ($39.95 AUD), it’s a better-than-average powder but it’s not perfect, in my opinion.

Have you tried Nude By Nature products? ¬†Is it just me or are the photos I took for this post looking really good or what? ¬†Also, I wonder what Google hits I will get from this post as it contains dodgy words like “nude” and “orgasm”. ¬†Let me write “sex” too – just for the heck of it ūüėõ

Wedding Bells Outfit Of The Day & Make-Up

Last weekend, my friends J and J got married. ¬†Mrs J looked stunning. ¬†I had a fantastic time and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had used our personalised wedding vows for their vows! ¬†Word for word!! ¬†I had tissues ready but I didn’t cry. ¬†And the reception food was good and I got tipsy after drinking a glass of white wine!

Prior to the wedding, Mrs J had asked me for some beauty advice and my best tip was to get flawless skin – which is not an easy feat!! ¬†For my wedding, I prepped my skin 7 days before the wedding with Babor Express Relief Fluid – and my skin was glowing. ¬†I also recommended Bioeffect EGF Serum and Alpha-H products leading up to the wedding… ¬†Turns out Mrs J’s skin broke out from using Bioeffect…and she ordered a stack of Alpha-H but never got round to using it – but Babor saved the day!! ¬†(I felt awful that Mrs J’s skin broke out from using Bioeffect…but my skin loves it! ¬†I started using it again 4 days before the wedding on Saturday and sure enough, my skin plumped out and had that lovely glow…and in fact, I’m still using it this week because I can’t get enough of it.)

OOTD : Outfit Of The Day

My Husband and I had a last minute panic attack on Friday night. ¬†Both of us have put on a lot of weight since getting married last year so he couldn’t fit into his suit and threatened to wear jeans! ¬†But in the end, he found a semi-formal pair of trousers (or pants, like the Aussies call them) and a shirt. ¬†I thought he looked like a bus driver!

For my outfit, I wore a red one-shouldered dress from Review. ¬†I bought it last year when I was much skinnier…thank God I managed to squeeze into it. ¬†I had to suck my belly in the whole day!!! ¬†And I wore my nude patent peeptoes from¬†Tony Bianco.

FOTD : Face Of The Day

For my hair and make-up, I used a LOT of products :

Washed with muk products* the night before. ¬†Created volume with VS Sassoon Big Hair Root Boost* and straightened with ghd’s and smoothed tips with Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil*.

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion Greed* – Primes oily eyelids and adds that extra shimmer under eyeshadows
  • FACE OF AUSTRALIA Colour Max Eyeshadow Palette Gold Mine* – Used matte brown shade for brows.
  • Mirenesse Pearl Crush Creaseless Shadows in Conch Pearls* – A subtle gunmetal grey smokey eye
  • Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner – My first time using this and I was so disappointed because the 0.1mm tip is too fine and hard to control! ¬†But I will learn to master it!
  • Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara* – Rose-scented mascara which lengthens. ¬†Love! (Full review)
  • Note : I forgot to conceal my dark circles under eyes! ¬†FAIL!

  • Elizabeth Arden Advanced Lip-Fix Cream – Been using this as a lip primer…but undecided about how I feel about it. ¬†I purchased it at a fab price and free shipping from here but it took 4 weeks to deliver though…)
  • Savvy by DB Lip Liner Poppy – I ALWAYS line my lips and shade it in if I wear red lippy. ¬†ALWAYS!
  • CoverGirl TruShine Lipstick in 500 Cranberry – One of my favourite reds…but it’s discontinued!! ¬†WHY?!!
  • Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss in Eric* – LOVE! ¬†(Full review and swatch)

(Products marked with * were not purchased by me.  I either got sent it for editorial consideration or I got it in a goody bag.)

This blog post is dedicated to the newlyweds and I wish them a loving life-long marriage full of joy, laughter, love and babies!

What did you wear to the last wedding you attended?

Nude By Nature Natural Mineral Eyeliner In Brown

I don’t normally buy brown eyeliners but I got this – Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Eyeliner in Brown – free with my Priceline haul a while ago. ¬† I have never heard of the brand Nude by Nature but it turns out that it is Australia’s number one mineral make-up brand.

  • Loving the double ends – one end is eyeliner and the other end is an eyeliner smudger (demonstrated in the photo above)
  • Waterproof – so it is ideal for tightlining eyes

  • Colour isn’t very pigmented
  • Smudges too easily with the smudger making colour too faint

Overall Rating

I’m not particularly keen on¬†Nude by Nature Natural Mineral Eyeliner in Brown, but perhaps if I had the black version, I would be more accepting towards it.¬† I have tried using it as an eyebrow pencil with minimal success.¬† I guess it just wasn’t meant to be…
