I actually did this Peter Pan collar nail art back in April when they were the “in” thing. Now, they aren’t so “in” anymore and I feel more comfortable posting up this pic because I wasn’t too happy with the results. Yes, there were many faults with my mani and don’t even look at my cuticles. But this month, I’m all about positive thinking so when I look at the photo of my Glitzy Peter Pan Collar nails, I just think, “Yay, at least I tried!” rather than, “That’s NOT Nail Art! That’s Nail FART!”
What do you think of my nail art? Are you a fan of Peter Pan collars?

Christmas is days away and last night, I came up with this nail art – Cute Reindeer Nails. Okay, admittedly, my reindeer is a bit confused and thinks it’s a puppy!!! LOL. I don’t have any nail art tools so relied on the nail polish brushes itself. Anyway, it was easy peasy so you can just look at the picture and recreate it with no problem.
Okay, so it went something like this :-
1. Base coat, rich red polish and a brown splodge on the middle finger.
2. Pop on the antlers and two small white dots for eyes.
3. Black dots within the white dots.
4. Red splodge for Rudolph the reindeer nose.
5. Glitter-fy the red. Done!!
Products used are :- Sally Hansen Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat, OPI Wocka Wocka!*, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Commander In Chic (full swatch), Rimmel I Heart Lasting Finish London Clouds, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Molten Metallics Iron Ore (full swatch) and OPI Excuse Moi!*
* The OPI are mini sizes because they are from the OPI Muppettes Mini Nail Collection – aren’t they adorable? Will swatch them at a later date.
Anyway, have fun creating festive nail art. Let me know what you think of my Cute Reindeer Nails.
I’ve been MIA for the last couple of days…and I actually did “normal” social stuff without blogging…and it felt kinda good and liberating!!! Eeeks, is it bad to say that?? Is this the beginning of the end of beauty blogging for me?? I don’t think so, but don’t quote me on that! But while I ponder about my future in beauty blogging, say hello to my Monday mani…
I haven’t been to New York before, but if it is as beautiful as Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Midnight In NY, then get me on the next plane there! The lacquer is black and speckled with micro-glitter to reflect the dark sky filled with sparkly stars.
I’ve mentioned this before but I’ll mention it again – I love Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure brushes because they are shaped perfectly for my nails. And that’s why I knew I had to buy Midnight In NY when I saw it in the bargain bins at a chemist.
What are you wearing on your nails today?
P.S. In real-time blogging… An electrician just knocked at the door because he is here to complete installation of air con! YES! We’re going to have A/C in time for the blazing Summer. Thank God my Landlady isn’t here. She ALWAYS comes over randomly…and today the house is a BOMBSITE!! We have been basically being doing sweet F all this weekend, in terms of housework. My Husband started tidying up yesterday, but I managed to stop him and distract him from the mess. I like living in a mess. It won’t be a mess very soon because… *dramatic music* My in-laws are arriving next week!!! *GULPS* And The Worst Daughter-In-Law Award goes to yours truly!!! I am rambling…apologies…will try and get back on form and blog properly tomorrow! See y’all!
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Tyin’ The Knot! is another nail polish I received from the goody bag I won a while ago. Tyin’ The Knot! is a gunmetal grey colour which is confusing as I associate the words “Tyin’ The Knot” to a wedding and I am thinking of soft off-white wedding colours. And because of this inappropriate name, I was convinced that I would not like the nail polish itself and I became reserved about painting my nails with it. (Yes, a nail polish can evoke these emotions from me!) After my initial reservations, did I end up liking it after I tried it? Read on to find out.
I have a moo-tastic treat for you all today! Inspired by Elisa’s Cow Print Nail Art Tutorial blog post and whilst wearing my cow pyjamas, I decided to try my first attempt at nail art and look how cute it turned out!! Everybody say, “Moo Moo!” with me. It was so easy to do. I didn’t have plain black nail polish, so I used a black one with a shimmer – which makes my cow extra special!! Onto the tutorial…
Ombré hair which features dark to light colour is extremely trendy at the moment. Yours truly is not as trendy in the hair department, but I played around with some nail colours and came up with my takes on ombré nails – pink, blue and purple.
Pink Ombré Nails
Featuring Bourjois So Laque! Rose Lounge (yes, the one worn by Kate Middleton on her wedding day – which I wore on MY wedding day which was way before hers so I am indeed a trend-setter LOL), FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Nail Enamel Cotton Candy*, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Nail Enamel Beauty Queen, Sally Hansen HD Digital and CoverGirl Continuous Color Midnight Mauve.
Pink ombré nails are right up my street!!! Massive love for this! But I am biased because pink is my favourite colour.
Blue Ombré Nails
Featuring Nicole by OPI Diva Into The Pool*, Rimmel London I Love Lasting Finish Azure, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Nail Enamel Ocean Villa*, China Glaze First Mate* and MUA Shade 1.
Ooooh, blue ombré nails turned out really well. Sounds silly but it reminds me of the sea and crashing waves. See, told you it was silly!!
Purple Ombré Nails
Featuring Primark Nail Polish Lilac, Mode Cosmetics Midsummer Dream, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Molten Metallics Amethyst*, FACE OF AUSTRALIA Luxe Private Jet* and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Pat On The Black.
My purple ombré nails need a bit of tweaking methinks. Not too happy with the poor quality lilac polish I own. Reminds me of Autumn for some reason.
Which one is your favourite ombré nails – pink, blue or purple?

Do you remember me telling you about the Sally Hansen goody bag I won a few weeks ago? I warned you that there’d be lots of Sally Hansen blog posts so here is a review of more of her products. Check out these two sexy bottles of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Commander In Chic and Pat On The Black.
Hot or what? But we all know it is not what outside that matters, but it’s what’s inside that counts. Let me break it down for you :
The unique shape and design of the glass bottle gets a thumbs-up from me. But I’m not a big fan of the stickers of the Sally Hansen labels – embossing FTW. The chrome lids attract fingerprints like you would expect.
I freakin’ love the wide flat brush as they seem to deliver just the right amount of product and coats my nails evenly with 3 brush strokes – middle, right, left. Reminds me of the brush from Missha Leopard Nail Polish. For the swatches below, I did not need tidy up the edges so you can see how well designed the brush is.
The consistency varies. I felt that Commander In Chic was thicker in a good way whereas Pat On The Black was thinner and somewhat lacking. Wasn’t as quick drying as I would have liked it to be, but there were no bubbles nor lumpy bits upon drying.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure have 5 steps in 1 bottle - Base Coat, Strengthener, Growth Treatment, Color and Top Coat. (This explains why this did not leave a stain on my nails when I removed it a few days later as I was too lazy to put on a base coat…but turns out, it contains base coat already. YAY!)
Commander In Chic
Out of the two Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polishes I received, Commander In Chic was the winner. It is a beautiful taupe shade with a glossy finish. I never ever imagined this colour would look good on me, but it is absolutely stunning. It just looks great for all occasions.
Seriously drop dead gorgeous from one coat. And see what a great job the brush is at delivering colour.
Pat On The Black
Pat On The Black is a rich blackcurrant colour which gets a mixed response from me. This shade suits my skin tone but there’s just something about it that doesn’t turn me on. Perhaps it was the somewhat thinner formula which required 2 coats to achieve opacity but even then, the finish doesn’t look as good as Commander In Chic. Reminds me of undiluted Ribena.
There are 42 colours in the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure range which are calling out my name but I must resist!!
