Trilogy Age Proof CoQ10 Eye Recovery Concentrate

A while ago, the good people at Trilogy sent me their new eye product for review – Trilogy Age Proof CoQ10 Eye Recovery Concentrate – which promises “brighter and younger looking eyes”.  And we all know that I love any product that promises to rewind time.  I put this baby to the test with daily usage for over a month and I have finally written my review…

Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream SPF15

It may be winter in Melbourne but it has been pleasantly sunny for the last week.  No wonder we need SPF all year round in Australia! I recently scraped the last blob from my SPF daily moisturiser (only available in Asia) and was wondering how my face would survive when Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream SPF15 literally landed on my doorstep.  It’s the SPF version of the original Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream – which I have not used before so I cannot compare the two…

What Trilogy Say

This deeply moisturising cream intensively replenishes all skin types and protects with a natural UV protection.

Evening Primrose, Marula and certified organic Rosehip oils hydrate and rebuild the skin whilst smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to reveal a beautiful, healthy-looking complexion.

Non-greasy and fast absorbing, it provides the perfect base for makeup application.

Product Ingredients

My Opinions

Although the simple packaging does not scream “buy me!”, I have to give it bonus points for the squeezy tube!  Most day moisturisers are in a jar which involve the unhygienic practice of finger-dipping.  (Who knows where your fingers have been?)

Slightly too thick for my liking so it requires a bit of rubbing for the white cream to blend into my skin although it hydrates well.  Initially, I was not a fan of the somewhat sticky residue which stays on your skin all day but I have become accustomed to this.

After daily usage of Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream SPF15 for 3 weeks, my skin feels indifferent, i.e. not better nor worse.  I haven’t noticed any changes in my fine lines.  As a make-up base, it performs quite well but I still prefer using a separate primer – although waiting time to apply primer after moisturiser has increased as I don’t feel that this Trilogy cream absorbs quickly enough and my face still feels very tacky after 5 minutes…and it remains like that all day.  But I guess it’s better that it feels moist rather than dry, right?

What I Like : Tube packaging

What I Dislike : Needs a higher SPF, sticky residue

The Best Beauty Blog Rating : 7 out of 10 – worth trying out Trilogy Vital Moisturising Cream SPF15 if you’re looking for hydration during the day, but give it a miss if your skin is oily already.

RRP for 50ml :  Aus $40.95 |  UK £27.50

Trilogy Gentle Moisturising Conditioner

I had a dodgy haircut in Malaysia in January and I am still growing it out.  I also got it chemically straightened and every night, I use a hairdryer (ooh, I bought a Remington one the other week so look out for my review) – so my hair is totally over-processed.  Sighs.  I bought Trilogy Gentle Moisturising Conditioner to give my hair much-needed TLC.

What Trilogy Says

Rescue dry, damaged and over-treated hair with this super-nourishing gentle conditioner.

Restore elasticity, moisture, body and shine with this creamy lightweight formula to leave hair silky smooth and tangle-free.

Enriched with wheat amino acids, Rosehip, Avocado, Olive and Coconut oils, it gently nourishes and enriches your hair exactly where it is needed most.

Product Ingredients

Aqua (Purified Spring Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Behentrimonium Methosulfate (AND) Cetyl Alcoh, Cyclomethicone, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Panthenol, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, , Persea Gratissima (Avocado Fruit) Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, , Arctium Lappa (Burdock) Root Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Distillate, Mel (Honey), Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum, Cinnamal, Cinnamyl, Citronellol, Alcohol*, Citral, D-Limonene, Eugenol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Isoeugenol, Linalool, *From 100% Natural Essential Oils

My Opinions

Trilogy Gentle Moisturising Conditioner smells divine from the mixture of essential oils.  I love smelling my hair!

This product is gentle and soothing on my occasionally itchy scalp.  This is probably due to the lack of harsh chemicals (no SLS!) in its formula.  Yay for that!  But I have to be careful not to apply too much conditioner to my scalp because I can get greasy roots easily.  My hair is usually tangle-free so I can’t say whether this Trilogy conditioner is a detangler.

My hair feels soft, silky, shiny and smells amazing after using Trilogy Gentle Moisturising Conditioner.  I definitely need to try the shampoo too.

Again, like the Trilogy Body Wash, the sticker label on the outside of the bottle doesn’t work well in my shower and it becomes grubby and icky.  Dear Trilogy, please sort out the packaging for products which need to live in my shower cubicle and I will send you a million kisses.  Thanks!

Trilogy Sensitive Skin Very Gentle Calming Fluid

My skin had been playing games with me recently.  First of all, it broke out in huge throbbing red zits – 5 on my cheeks and 1 in between my brows.  Not a pretty sight at all!  Thankfully, I had just received Trilogy Sensitive Skin Very Gentle Calming Fluid to review so it was great to test this out on my pulsating pimples.

What Trilogy Say

Trilogy Sensitive Skin Very Gentle Calming Fluid is an exceptionally gentle and calming fluid designed for intolerant, easily irritated skin in need of peace, comfort and soothing hydration.

Combines natural spring water and calming extracts of Chamomile and Calendula with moisture-repairing plant oils to help calm your complexion and protect the weakened skin barrier of sensitive skin.

Product Ingredients

Comes in a small glass bottle with a pump and stopper – which makes it easy for travelling so that nothing will get accidentally pumped out.

Non-sticky cloudy fluid which is not greasy.  Scent from the essential oils.

After using this morning and night for 3 weeks after cleansing and before moisturiser, I can safely say that my dry sensitive skin took a liking to the nourishing and soothing properties of this Trilogy product.  I like to use a lot of this on my face and neck and I use 3 pumps to get the right amount…and excess, I apply on my decolettage.

As for calming down my red zits, it worked a treat after 2 days of usage and the zits just turned dark and then disappeared on the third day and did not pustulate…(although I like squeezing pus out of zits…it’s very therapeutic for me…Don’t judge me!!)

For 30ml :  Australia $42.95 ¦ UK £28.50

What I Love : Nourishing, hydrating and soothing especially in the cold winter days

What I Dislike : There is an expiry date for the product.  And only 6 months to use it.  This is not good for someone like me who likes to change skincare routine every month and hoard products.  The scent is a hit and miss with me.  Some days it doesn’t bother me, but some days I hate it – my nose is weird like that.

The Best Beauty Blog Rating : 8.5 out of 10 for Trilogy Sensitive Skin Very Gentle Calming Fluid.  Would definitely repurchase if my skin flared up.

  • Soft and gentle on my skin

  • The sticker on the bottle starts to peel and looks all ugly when it gets wet in the shower
