Tried & Tested Trio : Tinted Moisturisers
With every beauty brand jumping onto the BB Cream bandwagon (which incidentally is old news because CC Cream is coming soon!), I thought it would be interesting to take a look at their predecessors – Tinted Moisturisers – and review them in my new Tried & Tested Trio series.
Natio Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 in Honey
Product Description : A sheer lightweight moisturiser with a satin finish and a hint of colour
Packaging : The most sophisticated-looking tinted moisturiser out of the trio and I liked the thinner nozzle too.
Performance : As a moisturiser, it doesn’t hydrate that well so I couldn’t skip my usual moisturiser. I liked the runny liquid consistency of the Natio Tinted Moisturiser as it required minimal blending. It is so easy to apply that I used it a few times when I was rushing to work in the mornings and I don’t even usually wear any make-up. However, I realised the shade ‘Honey’ was WAY too dark for me when I wore it to a birthday party and saw the photos afterwards. I have ceased using it and will wait till the Summer when I will inevitably get tanned even if I don’t want to. We bought some deck furniture last weekend and I have been blogging outside in the lovely Spring weather so look out for a tanned version of moi.
Perfect for : A quickie to even out complexion in the mornings so you don’t frighten people at work sans make-up.
Dove Protective Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 in Beige
Product Description : Basically a Dove face moisturiser with a tint. DUH!
Packaging : Simple and clean-cut with a flip lid which is good for people like me who oftens find lids and wonders which product it belongs to!
Performance : I loved the moisturising effects and the light tint this provided. However, I wasn’t a big fan on the scent which reminds me of a similar smell from my now-deceased Granny’s old folk’s home.
Perfect for : Ladies who want to smell like Grannies to give them a touch of colour, a touch of SPF and a touch of hydration
Nivea Visage Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Tinted Day Cream
Product Description : A tinted moisturiser with Q10 to help fight wrinkles
Packaging : This was my least favourite of the trio as it’s one of those nozzles and screw on lids which can end up looking very gunky and messy after a few uses
Peformance : I felt this was closest in texture to the Garnier BB Creams. I liked that it wasn’t too heavy as a moisturiser and it’s so sheer that it claims to “suit all skin tones”. The smell reminds me of the Nivea sunscreens which I am a big fan of. But it’s low SPF of 15 is definitely not adequate for protection from the sun.
Perfect for : Wearing in the shade at the beach with Nivea sunscreen on my body and Nivea Tinted Day Cream on my face OVER my zinc oxide sunscreen.
I hope you enjoyed the first post in my Tried & Tested Trio. What are your thoughts on Tinted Moisturisers? Are you a fan of them and which brand is your favourite?

The Natio one looks quite nice though.

@Megan, Oooh NT = SUN SUN SUN, right? I wish Melbourne was more humid because I can’t stand dry heat as my skin is a flaky mess
