Naked 2, Dangerous, Ammo, Sustainable Shadow, Urban Decay

Remember I told you that Urban Decay is coming to Australia online and in shop at Mecca Maxima?  Well, we’re only days away from being able to get our mitts on some UD goodies.

But what about the prices?  Will they be comparable to US prices or will they be sky high?

I did some investigating to compare Urban Decay product prices in Australia at Mecca (where shipping is free with orders over $75), USA and online via Beauty Bay (which does free shipping in Australia for orders over $20) and here is what I found…

Please note that prices are in AUD and current at time of writing taken from their respective websites with the currency converted via

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Urban Decay Naked Palettes Prices

AU : $78
US : $70 (converted from $54 USD)
BB : $83

Conclusion :  $8 price difference.  Hey, not too bad at all, right?  Definitely get the thumbs up to buy the Naked Palettes in good old Aussie-land instead of getting it shipped from US of A.

Urban Decay Primer Potion In Action

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potions Prices

There are 4 different Primer Potions to choose from hence the range in prices.

AU : $30-34
US : $26-31 (converted from $20-24)
BB : $35

Conclusion : $4 hike is practically nothing compared to other products from other brands.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Rockstar

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Prices

AU : $30
US : $26 (converted from $20)
BB : $34

Conclusion :  $4…I think we are starting to see a trend here.  Yay!  Things are looking good.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm Prices

AU : $48
US : $44 (converted from $34)
BB : $51

Conclusion :  Yep, you’ve guessed it.  Only $4 increase.

Urban Decay Ammo Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush

AU : $35
US : $32.50 (converted from $25)
BB : $45

Conclusion :  Wow, only $2.50 price difference this time.  Amazing!  And definitely forget purchasing from Beauty Bay!

Urban Decay Makeup Setting Sprays

AU : $44
US : $39 (converted from $30)
BB : $46

Conclusion :  Okay, this is only $5 mark up which is not drastic in the grand scheme of things.

Bottom Line

From my initial research, it looks like the Urban Decay prices in Australia are pretty good ranging from $2.50 to $8 increase – which I’m sure all Aussie beauty lovers will agree that this mini price hike is not a dealbreaker.

Obviously, if when (*fingers crossed*) the Aussie dollar gets stronger, we may not be as content with the bigger changes in price differences.  But as for now, we are all celebrating the fact that we don’t have to shop online at Beauty Bay anymore and that Urban Decay has finally come Down Under!

I hope this has been a helpful post!  Happy shopping ladies!

*Apologies for all the old photos of my Urban Decay collection from my previous posts…I didn’t have time to take new photos and also, my sister stole most of my UD palettes so I definitely need to stock up, don’t I?  😛

Disclaimer : Just a gentle reminder that these are the prices I found on the respective websites at the time of writing with the currency converted from so they are subject to change.

  1. YAY! This is so great to hear. I’m seriously so impressed with Mecca, ever since their price drop, I’ve definitely been more inclined to shop there and support them!

    Tasha // shiwashiful.

  2. I’m kind of glad to hear that the pricing isn’t too different and still happy to hear that we’ll now have these brands available in Australia. Like finally!!

    Thanks for the heads up!!

  3. Ooooh thanks for the breaking down the prices! I didn’t think the prices would be that comparable. $4-$5 difference is insignificant; if I buy the products online, getting them shipped here with shipping fees and so on would cost either the same or more. Plus, hello, instant gratification! 😀

  4. I’ve been looking through your blog and loving it so far. This post is actually really handy and it doesn’t upset me as much to see the price comparison anymore.

But one thing, beauty bay is a huge no no for me. I’ve had nothing but bad experience with them. They are too risky to buy from so I much prefer mecca or Just wanted to throw that out there.

    • Oh really? BB is that bad? I’ve never bought from them before so I wouldn’t know. Thanks for the heads up though
