What's in my beach bag?

{ Happy Friday peeps!  I had a Peking Duck dinner date last night so didn’t have time to prepare a post for today so I had a look at my unpublished drafts and here is what I found -‘What’s In My Beach Bag?’!!!  I actually wrote this over a year ago…but it seems kinda apt because Melbourne has been crazy hot and great beach weather if you like getting sunburnt 😉

Looking back at this post, I realised that I made a great investment by purchasing this DSLR camera for better photos 😛  Anyway, on with the post and I wish all the Aussie peeps a happy long Labour Day weekend 🙂  4.5 hours till mine starts 🙂  (yes I am typing this whilst having a wee break at work – shhh!!!) }

Melbourne has been going through some sunny spells recently and you know what that means, right?  Time to hit the beach!  Here’s what I put in my beach bag :-

1.  Biotherm Eau Pure

  • OMG!  You HAVE to smell this!  My Husband loves it on me.  It’s fresh and revitalising and one of my favourite scents of all time.

2.  Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

  • Every little bit of SPF helps so even if I have sunglasses on, I dab this on under my eyes.

3.  Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion

  • I’m frantically nervous about getting more sun-spots so I definitely need a strong sunblock.  My preferred sunscreen is from Invisible Zinc but the formula separated when I left it in my car overnight.  *cries*

4.  Le Tan SPF 30+ Coconut Spray

  • Smells yum and helps to create a tropical feel.  Similar to the Auscreen one.
5.  Organic Island Oriental Fan Shell Lip Balm
  • Indulgent lip balm in a beautiful sea shell to nourish my lips in the sun – LOVE it!
  • Check out the range and purchase your own on their website.
6.  YSL Rouge Volupte in #14 Orange Shiver
  • I cannot go anywhere without lipsticks these days and this is a current fave.  Added bonus that it contains SPF 15 and has a mirror on its lid for easy application.  LOVE!!!  (see swatch here)
7.  Beach Road by James Patterson
  • I love James Patterson books!  And I’m really getting into this one and it’s so apt for a beach read.
8.  Pink sunnies from Primark
  • Pink!  Primark!  Protects eyes!  PERFECT!  (Alliteration overdose here!)
  • Unfortunately, Primark is only available in UK…*cries*
9.  Rekorderlig Cider
  • This is my FAVOURITE cider ever!  I LOVE Strawberry and Lime!  So refreshing when straight out of the fridge and poured on ice.  Must drink with a straw to avoid ruining lipstick!
10.  Beach blanket
  • No beach trip is complete without a beach blanket to lie on!

And all of this put in a large beach bag.  Perfection!

What’s in your beach bag?

Disclosure :  Some of these products were sent for consideration and some were gifts and some I purchased with my own money.

  1. I love the Coconut Le Tan spray! 🙂 I have been using that one for years (in addition to the basic one from Coles which is actually pretty good – it’s a home brand but nice and light) and keep on coming back to it due to the lovely fragrance!

Again, thank you for taking the time to come out on the weekend it was a lot of fun! 😀

    • @Sarah, The coconutty smell is what makes it!!

And yay, it was SUPER fun and dammit…I didn’t know that we were able to have more time with you!! If I knew, we could have gone to eat Korean food together…mmmmm!!!!

      • @Ling, oh yeah for sure re the sun screen! 🙂

Oh I am sorry! I didn’t go home till the Wednesday but I’m sure there be another time. There is another conference mid year in 2014 in MEL that I am likely to attend. Having said, that, before then, perhaps you and some fellow Melburnians may grace us with your presence at the Adelaide Beauty Conference this year! (I think it is in August but Celeste would be the key contact re that.) 🙂

  2. Love this, I’ve been using a sunscreen mist from Neutrogena (I think).

Makes it so easy to rub it in and get to hard to reach spots!

Also loving the shell balm and the cute pink sunnies!
