EDIT : Beauty blogger blunder – This was Foie Gras, NOT Mahogany Magic! Well, spotted Brittney!  Apologies for any mix-up caused!

China Glaze nail polish swatches, flaky topcoat, The Hunger Games nail polishes

The Hunger Games – what does this mean to you?  To me, it meant nothing…until I ooh-ed and aah-ed over the new China Glaze Capital Colours collection which is inspired by The Hunger Games – the most anticipated movie release of the year.  Have I been living under a rock??  Anyway, who cares and let’s get on with today’s nail polish swatches of China Glaze Mahogany Magic Foie Gras & Luxe And Lush – which was kindly sent to me by PR.

China Glaze Foie Gras

China Glaze brown creme polish, swatches, nails, China Glaze Foie Gras

China Glaze Mahogany Magic is a taupe-brown creme which requires 2 coats for full opacity.    Like all the other China Glaze nail polishes in my collection, this exudes a beautiful sheen thanks to the China Clay they contain.  I think it’s a sophisticated colour, but my sister said it aged me.  “Yeah, whatever!”

China Glaze Foie Gras & Luxe And Lush

China Glaze nail polish swatches, flaky top coat, The Hunger Games

It truly was a magical moment when I layered China Glaze Luxe And Lush on top of Foie Gras.  This flakie top coat really knows how to attract attention with its chunky flakes which look green, gold, pink under direct sunlight.  Compared to my other flakie from AustralisChina Glaze Luxe And Lush dries with more texture and it feels like chunky bits of glitter.  I didn’t mind it but if you do, a clear top coat will smooth out any roughness.

China Glaze Capitol Colours

My love for China Glaze Nail Lacquers continues.  I just wish that it was easier for us to get our hands on China Glaze in shops in Melbourne.

So…about The Hunger Games?  Is it worth me reading the book?  Should I watch the movie instead?  And will you be getting any China Glaze Capital Colours?

YES, you should – nay, MUST read the books! or at the very least watch the movie because the story’s epic! you can go ahead and sue me if you end up hating it (okay don’t actually sue me, as I don’t have money to burn). 😀

I don’t think that shade is ‘Mahogany Magic’. Looks to be ‘Foie Gras’.

@Brittney, OMG! Thanks for letting me know Brittney! It was purely my fault – I had requested Mahogany Magic from the PR – and I totally assumed it was Mahogany Magic without checking the label!!! >_<

That’s okay, I think ‘Foie Gras’ is one of the best in the collection, especially paired with ‘Luxe and Lush’. Very pretty!

    So pretty!
Read the books! I first saw the trailer late last year and afterwards I was like OMG I MUST READ THESE BOOKS. Got through all 3 within a week and I am seeing the movie this Thursday on opening day!! So excited 🙂
Where do you buy your China Glaze in store in Melbourne? I haven’t really seen them anywhere aside from the beauty supply store in Braybrook 🙁

@Sue, Ah really?? Are they that good? I am intrigued. But everyone loves Harry Potter but I never got past the first book as it put me to sleep. Hopefully Hunger Games is much better 😉

As for China Glaze, that’s what I mean – it’s so bloomin’ difficult to find them in shops! I saw them once at DFO near Essendon…? But haven’t seen any since 🙁

Is Luxe and Lush a pain to remove? 🙂

@Ivy, Nope! But that’s because I had it on top of Foie Gras. On its own, it may need a little extra help 😉

YOU MUST READ THE BOOK. MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST. Omg. I have been going cray cray about Hunger games ever since I devoured the books in one sitting. Ahem.

Wish I could get my hands on this collection, but my one year no spending ban says no. =(

I just found this as I’m letting my Luxe & Lush dry over Stone Cold. I wish I’d seen this first! Foie Gras is a gorgeous color and would really complement the flaky finish. Ah, well… next time!
