The infamous Korean hair brand, GlamPalm, recently launched in Australia and the good people there sent me their award-winning GP201 Hair Iron for me to review.

When I first opened the package, I was flabbergasted.  Yes, I am a sucker for fabulous packaging and GlamPalm definitely won me over with their sexy sturdy cardboard box which opened up to reveal a (faux?) leather bag with patent buckle (containing the hair straightener) resting upon a grey inner box material lining.

Not only do you get a heat-resistant bag (yes!!!) for the GlamPalm Straightener, but you also get 2 hair sectioning clips and a protective heat resistant cap.  I was already sold and I hadn’t even turned on the hair iron yet!!!

There are actually a lot of amazing features for the GlamPalm Hair Iron itself so I am going to mention the ones that impressed me :-

  • As mentioned, loved the packaging and the fact it comes with heat-resistant bag, protective cap and 2 hair sectioning clips.  SUPER DUPER travel-friendly!!!
  • 11 heat settings from 100-200°C
  • Long extension cord of 3 metres – For me, length matters as I like to walk around and dance when I am straightening my hair { see me in action }.  Yes, it can get tangled up, but the geniuses behind GlamPalm have included a ‘cord belt thing’ which means you can make the cord shorter.
  • 3D swivel pivot cord – It means I can curl my hair without the cord wrapping round my wrist.

And then there’s the ceramic plates.  Apparently, the coating is made from a special Healing Stone and it is “scientifically proven to have almost no damage”!!  I cannot comment on that claim as I haven’t used my GlamPalm Hair Iron long enough to decide whether my hair has almost no damage from it.

There are 3 types of GlamPalm Hair Irons which are based on the size of the ceramic plates.  Although I have thick and unruly frizzy hair, GP201 suits me really well because I am accustomed to that size from my ghd straighteners and I can straighten or curl my hair easily.

As it has been crazy hot and humid in Melbourne recently, I really got to put the GlamPalm Hair Iron to the test.  My hair remained sleek and straight through the heat!!  As for shiny, glossy hair, I didn’t see too much of that from using GlamPalm – but then again, that is probably because of the poor condition of my over-processed hair which has been abused with bleach, hair dye and heat!!!

Overall, I really, really like the GlamPalm Hair Iron and that is largely helped by having the heat-resistant cap and pouch.  It just make things so much tidier and easier!!!  In fact, I actually put my ghd back in its box and GlamPalm has taken over the ultimate coveted spot in my bathroom!

Your hair looks amazing! Section clips make the job of straightening so much easier – that and the 3m cord are big + to me too! 🙂
